Do you mean by picking up Resin? If so, yes!

Aye. Been ages since I played it so I've forgotten a lot of the names and gooseberry fool.

My main suggestion to increase chances of survivability (other than picking up all resin / buying all HP items from shops) would be to do roughly a 75% clear of the first stage - that way you get good upgrades for next level, but aren't pushing your luck too much; avoid the room with the parasite thing on the door you have to shoot off to enter (the one with the waves of enemies + boss mob) unless you're very confident at coming away mostly unscathed (good loot and resin in those rooms if I remember correctly); also remember to shoot the statues as some will award currency - handy when you're *just short* to buy something. And also avoid the first boss, ofc. Sorry if stating the obvious. But keep at it and it'll get less frustrating. (Either through familiarisation, or the luck the draw going your way.)

Oh god, I forget all the names all the time and I'm actively playing it! :slol:

I did read a tip online to always pay Ether at the start of a new game to unlock new items. My last couple of games I've had the pick up which reduced the amount of Resin required to increase your max integrity (health).

I ignored your advice, went through the crazy ass door with the parasite requiring shooting off and left the first level very well equipped. But when I came across it late on level 2, I took your advice and stayed well clear!

I have suspended the game, just as I'm about to start the boss fight for the second time. I have full health and a reconstructor ready if required. I'm as ready as I have ever been, but I'm not ready for this!

I currently love the game, but whether or not I beat this boss will determine how long that lasts!

Here it is, attempt number two at this boss, though about attempt 200 at actually reaching it.

Spoiler for outcome:

So chuffed to have reached the third level at last! And the grapnel hook is very much welcome, it's been bugging me since I started playing the game, seeing areas out of reach.

Do I need to fight the second boss to move on to the third level every time, or is there a way to skip it, like the level one boss?

No, you can skip to the third level and you do not need to fight the second boss again unless you want to again.

Yes, there is a way to jump to the third level via the first Biome. Follow the gate (there are two gates, one to Biome 2 and one to Biome 3) which it leads to the third Biome.

Housemarque’s award-winning roguelike shooter arrives on PC early 2023.

Break the cycle… on PC.

Glad I went with 32GB for my current PC. Thought I was wasting money.

You can skip Biomes once you’ve beaten the boss :|

I'm enjoying the PC version. Killed the first boss on my first attempt, got a leveled up cool machine gun which occasionally fired out energy waves, got pretty far in the second biome and then died right outside a health room.

Infuriating.

Will be buying the PC version at some point. Can't really justify it right now though as I already have a few games on the go and I would like to finish Returnal this time.

What's the general feeling on this? Worth £28?

Yeah, it's brilliant. Pretty tough but it controls beautifully and is a joy to play. The lore and story is also much better than I expected and it has a really good atmosphere throughout.

I need to go back to it actually to try the DLC.

I got to the third biome and I’m done with it. Would have had a lot more patience for it if it wasn’t a rogue like.

It's on PS+.

If you don't have it, it's a brilliant game and it's one of my fave PS5 games.
