Wondering if any one for you would be up for the co-op soon?

So, I had to send this back (rental copy) *again* because it's still freezing my PS5 :( Not the first time it froze it, but I'd hoped with the updated game it may have been fixed. Nope.

That’s weird. I had it crash once, but no freezing.

That's shame. :(

Last night, I went on with a random player and we reached the tower in the second world, but we failed.

I'm quite a newbie to this to be honest. :fp: I'll give a lot more to play it soon.

So picked this up from PS+Extra.

Anyone got any tips or a quick simple guide that can help me in the early game. I can take on basic enemies pretty easily but as soon as anything more powerful comes up I get instantly strawberry floated. Unsure what upgrades are best to prioritise. Terminology and lore is pretty confusing too.

Enjoying playing this but getting strawberry floated off having to repeat the same gooseberry fool over and over again. I think this is just another case of Rogue likes being strawberry floating brainless game design to my mind.

I've returned to it and I tried to beat the second boss, but I've failed. I managed to get to the last bar of the boss' health. I made a little mistake and I died.

On the next run, I feel I could do it better and it's great with the co-op.

Is it easier in co-op?

I’d be down to play this weekend BOR. I love it but I’m just so bored by having to repeat stuff over and over. I just can’t get on board with Rogue-Like games because it fundamentally feels like a gooseberry fool mechanic to me. Would love to play further through the game though. As it is I’ve kinda dropped it for SpiderMan MM.

I made it up the very final part of the game and then gave up because I really didn’t like the style of the last bit. I really should get back to it, if I could complete it it would probably be my biggest gaming achievement.

I would say yes, but it's not definitely much easier. It's more about experience and a bit back up knowing that other player can revive you if anything went wrong.

Depends on the situation. Example, if the boss level, the co-op would be better cos one of us can revive other player to bring back alive. Also, the boss would aim to me, so I have to keep moving while the other player can just shoot at it. Or vice versa until the boss died.

I think once you have beaten the first boss and it may be better experience as you gain more skills/weapons. I would say it's better to play on the co-op in my opinion.

I've also just started this and enjoying it but I'm struggling with first boss. Just seems hard to avoid damage and I haven't worked out how to dodge his upclose attack. I think in general as well I find the camera angles can make it difficult to avoid damage which seems to be quite punishing as you then lose all adrenaline.

Are there ever any secret items in an area that aren't obvious (i e. behind a red barrier) at the moment I'm going around destroying every statue and hitting walls wondering if there might be something, but so far nothing.

I'm already bracing myself for the third biome backlash.

Ah, you can just collect stuff and be ready for the second boss if you haven't beaten it yet.

I believe there will be a sound of bleep from your little robot to tell you there's a secret nearby you.

Yes, there are. In the first biome there's a wall which will lead to a secret area containing a cube thing you can use after the boss. I didn't find it in every rum, so I'm not sure how common it is. It has a texture different to that of other walls. It looks whole but... crumblier.
Statues will sometimes have currency hidden away in them, so they're well worth destroying if you find yourself just short of currency to purchase something. Statues can also contain those ray flying mobs, so beware of them if you're low on health.

You'll see orange doors dotted about areas. You can enter these by upgrading your energy sword at the "shop". I never bothered with them myself so I'm not sure if they're worth it.

Re first boss melee: dodge. If I'm remembering correctly the tell is obvious and there's lots of time to dodge out of range.

Beat Ixion! 8-) :toot:

It was easier than the first boss.

Went in the third area and died somewhere half way through.

So good.
