The whole set-up of No Going Out for the past 2 series I think has changed. Originally it was freeloading Lee Mack and this American woman living together as flat mates in what appeared to be a nice apartment in London.

I think the best BBC1 sitcom of the last 10 years was Worst Week of My Life with Ben Miller; I thought that was hilarious.

My mum absolutely loves Mrs Brown's Boys and has been to several of the live shows.

I've only caught the odd episode now and again, and it's not that bad. Certainly funnier than some other BBC sitcoms.

It was about the only thing my nan enjoyed in the last year of her life.

Same. She passed away only a few weeks ago, and outside of the soaps, and Formula 1, this was one of the few programmes she enjoyed.

I have fond memories of her introducing me to the first episode, and at the time it was surprisingly funny and refreshing compared to dull rubbish like 'My Family'.

Really sorry to hear about that.

Like you, I first watched the show in my nans. She was watching the one with the bikini wax strip. It wasn't as bad as I thought, it's not really my thing on the whole. But it was good to see her actually interested in something at that point.

My Family was another show the BBC ruined by keeping it going way too long.

Worst Week was decent enough. For me I'd say Detectorists is easily the best the BBC has put out over the recent past - phenomenal show!

Mrs Brown's Boys is utter shite and I can't say these results surprise me.

Not Going Out?

Parents picked that to watch at Christmas - some special (probably Christmas)

It wasn't bad - but just painfully bland and predictable. Good cast too but just lacking spark...

Lee Mack is at his best in The Lee Mack Show. (Sorry WILTY.)

I like WILTY but Lee Mack and David Mitchell have been on the show so long that it’s almost pointless them being on there. All their best stories have been told and so they are almost always lying now.

I occasionally watch some old comedies when they're replayed on ITV3/4 or whatever (On the Buses, Two Ronnies, Benny Hill, Alf Garnett, Bless This House, Terry and June, George and Mildred) and they really haven't aged well at all. Maybe they were just always terrible.

Great theme tunes though.

Basically one of them each week gets to spin a preposterous yarn around something we know from the start is bollocks. Whether it's true or not is completely irrelevant!

Yeah but I prefer the crazy true stories. That bloke the other week that slept in a bush after missing his train.

Tea bag first, then water, then milk.
