Tis arrived yesterday and I did my first session last night. I have to say I liked it. My problem with working out is I get bored and I never know what to do so having a game around it all and someone to tell me what to do is actually usefule. Early days yet but Im optimistic that Ill keep this up.

I was in a position where I’d dropped squats in favour of knee lifts going in to a level because I brought two yellows two reds and a green and didn’t have room for both. When I came up against 2 blue enemies in a row it was just knee lifts -> ineffective exercise -> knee lifts ad nauseum.

But if I’d guessed what exercises to bring in differently I’d have had a totally different (and more enjoyable) workout, because I wouldn’t have had to do the high intensity aerobics so many times in quick succession. I get that limiting it to 6 brings some focus to the workout because it forces you to repeat sets instead of doing a tiny bit of everything, but that’s surely what the colour coding is for in the first place.

I get this frustration, it is a bit annoying design wise.

I've basically given up caring about what is most effective against enemies and just doing whichever exercise I want to do in order to get a good balance to my workout. If that means a few more reps to defeat a mob then I don't really care!

World 2 down and still enjoying it, just unlocked the colour matching power so Ill see how that goes today. The game aspect of it is strong enough to keep me interested, I get annoye when I miss a box or a cluster of rings and timing the jumps right is surprisingly satisfying, Right now Im just trying to get into a routine though and make sure I do a session of it every day.

I missed 3 days of this, got lazy on the weekend and now I have what I think is a cold, need to force myself back in to it, but not today as I'm gonna be streaming tonight.

Some of the routines in this do not mess around. Though a big part of it is going to come from not training those areas in the first place so they're weak to begin with, but still. I've been aiming to try things on Hard, and pushing for the Hardcore routines. The Abs one wrecked me, my core is a load of nothing. :dread:

Just had my first taste of mountain climbers - it was the double hit to motivation of them being extremely difficult to do and the game not really registering your movements properly so you it just tells you you're gooseberry fool over and over - Had the "Get into position Three...Two...O- oh you're out of position. Get back into position. Three... Twooo... One and a half... oh you're out of position again" over and over when trying to get them to start.

Will probably give them a swerve when I unlock them properly in adventure mode.

I've only done one set of mountain climbers but it almost killed me off. Luckily it seemed to register mine fine but hearing the guy counting down every 10 was torture

My left knee has been aching the past two days so I haven't played it to be on the safe side. Will have to get back on it tomorrow though, if not tonight.

On the level select screen it tells you what colour is recommended for the level ahead (based on enemy type) so you don't have to guess? That might help make it more satisfying.

Lawd.

I'm properly enjoying this, a real diversity to the amount of exercises it presents, and it does build a proper sweat. I've been gradually increasing the intensity to keep myself challenged (on World 4 and have it set to 26 currently) and I like how the story bring in challenges and stipulations to push you into using the full range of exercises. It's still possible to abuse the exercises that you find easier, so I'm at least grateful for the game trying to engage you with a wider selection.

Took me three tries to beat the third kingdom boss battle :shifty:

Four days in and quite enjoying! Partly wish ring would shut up each time I do a rep.

Closest I've come to tapping out so far was the Fitness Gym in World 9. Front Press straight into Overhead Press set my arms on fire.

I've really slacked off on this the past week. I just need to accept I'm doomed to be overweight and unfit forever.

Anyone else find themselves getting a bit too "into it" when playing this? Fist pumping and celebrating when you take down a stubborn enemy etc?

I've pumped up the intensity another couple of notches recently which is probably a factor but I'm not sure that excuses me ending my session tonight by loudly exclaiming: "Take that Draguax you strawberry floating banana split!" :slol:
