Cheers, Maf.

The menu music has firmly rooted itself in my mind this morning.

Finished World 3, the boss being level 17 (I'm guessing that's the recommended level you should be at as I was 16) that was a toughie running up the reverse escalators :x

Found a copy of this in stock at Smyths so I plonked down an order, be interesting to see how I get on with it. Hopefully the game side of it is enough for me to keep at it and actually want to do the workouts. That was Smyths Ireland by the way so I have no idea if their UK site will have stock but if anyone in Ireland is looking for it head there.

I'd also be interested in your thoughts.

It's definitely more "workout" than "game", but it blends the two better than I've seen of anything thus far. DDR is too "gamey" and Wii Fit is too "workouty".

Did 2 levels + a minigame level today. I'm not overdoing it, but im just trying to get to the point I feel a bit worn out then stopping (starting to struggle with stuff in other words). The travellators which if you don't jog with super high legs you can't get through are awful, I struggle so much with the jogging

Finally found the options menu and turned my difficulty up one more to 11 (haw haw) and also changed it so I have to complete the exercises in full even if an enemy of defeated.

I was knackered by the end of it and I think my cat thought I was dying. On the knee to chest exercise I heard a pained cry coming from behind me and I turned to see her, wide eyed, sitting under the table and staring at me. Poor thing.

I bought it and am excited! Sorry Joe Wicks!

Not going to lie, the character design and slightly odd peripheral/centre-piece for the game didn't have me much interested.

But that menu music on the previous page (and, I suppose, Lockdown) sold it to me. Keen for it to arrive!

Back in stock at GAME but they're selling it for £20 dearer than they were the other week. £89.99

8th day of Adventure mode, probably 10th workout overall.

Still liking how much less of a mental hurdle it is to do this than go for a run/to the pool. Definitely working up a big ol sweat every time.

Unlocked the back bends (forgot the name - it's like a big bow) and thigh squeezes which are a good couple of exercises to have in the rotation.

I don't like how your earlier exercises essentially become "useless" to the stronger enemies later on though. I want to do overhead presses, but with a power of 30 that only targets 1 enemy, it's a bit pointless...

So it’s been 10 days and I’ve used this 4 times. I expected to use it more but there’s a couple of little things that are annoying me a bit.

Having to choose a set of exercises to equip stinks. Basically just one of each colour then and an extra one for two colours in the hope that they’re the right ones for the level.

And yes, the power disparity between exercises seems off. Torso twists feel extremely easy but do like 4x the damage of something like squats. Then by the time you get to the boss you’re just swapping between your two power moves until he’s dead. In W3 I honestly just had to do knee lifts and warrior pose 1. Worked up a sweat, yes, but didn’t feel like a complete workout at all, and got really boring by the end

Also, running on the spot/doing on the floor exercises sucks on a wooden floor.

Too loud with shoes, too hard on the feet in socks, definitely too sore on the hips for sit down stuff

You don't have to chose exercises for every stage. I only actively did this in world 5 (I think) where there's stages specifically focused on each type of work out.

There's a quiet mode that replaces the running on the spot with mini squats.

I mean having to choose 6 instead of having all the ones you unlocked available.

I was in a position where I’d dropped squats in favour of knee lifts going in to a level because I brought two yellows two reds and a green and didn’t have room for both. When I came up against 2 blue enemies in a row it was just knee lifts -> ineffective exercise -> knee lifts ad nauseum.

But if I’d guessed what exercises to bring in differently I’d have had a totally different (and more enjoyable) workout, because I wouldn’t have had to do the high intensity aerobics so many times in quick succession. I get that limiting it to 6 brings some focus to the workout because it forces you to repeat sets instead of doing a tiny bit of everything, but that’s surely what the colour coding is for in the first place.
