Andy playing scary games is comedy gold. I like it, as do 1.5m others, its quick witted, sharp, to the point and very well edited.

Why? At least they try to do something different. Without them and sites like Videogamer, Giantbomb and what GT was doing in their latter years all we're left with are corporate sockpuppets like IGN, pumping out dry press releases as news. I couldn't tell you the name or other piece of identifying information about any of the writers at IGN, Gamespot or Eurogamer.

Well, I appreciate what they are doing I suppose, IGN and Eurogamer have relatively poor online shows, I just find Videogamer's humour out of date, old school FHM bantz for the ladz, featuring many cock jokes, fat jokes, sexist jokes, oi oi jokes and little intelligence and/or substance. The site seems to pride itself on being a troll and for some that's great, its just not for me. I actually found GT to be just as boring and bad as IGN and the rest, very little in way of originality which admittedly Videogamer has.

I find solace that OutsideXbox which has wit, charm and intelligence in equal measure has 10 times the amount of subs Videogamer has. They play all platforms also but I think are subsidized a little bit by MS.

Did you actually watch anything from GT? It doesn't sound like you did, they were nothing like IGN.

I don't think I've seen anything from Geoff Keighley yet so maybe there's hope he's in talks to keep them together somehow.

I only watched GT for reviews which seemed quite conservative and 'normal' for want of a better word, nothing of note. Obviously the live streaming was where they engaged the audience better. No way they will just stop doing what they know and love, I'd be aghast if they didn't try to get back to doing this but under a different name.

I think GT will go down in history as the pioneer of television standard production values for videogames. That you could do a great show 'worthy' of SpikeTV.

Are there two Videogamer sites out there? It's like you're describing the evil twin of the channel I'm subscribed to.

I'll tell you what, ill watch a vid suggested by you lot at lunch...ill give it one more chance. Can't be too long tho :)

It sounds like you've already made your mind up regardless.

I've only just discovered this topic. I must say I'm not at all surprised GT is now gone. I really never understood how they stuck around for so long, tbh. Long gone are the 'glory days' of the site, sad to say, and in recent years I've really only looked-in now and again when once it was a regular internet stop for me. I didn't like the new crop of 'keraaazy' presenters they had fronting things like GT Time (just couldn't watch it).

Ah well. This is the new digital frontier, after all, and insta-kills are to be expected as everyone and his dog fumbles about looking for a sustainable income stream/business model.

These days I spend more and more time just watching subscribed YouTubers play new and favourite games. For analysis, I've found good content providers such as AngryCentaur, Total Biscuit, the ever-reliable Angry Joe and Jim Sterling, etc.

Life goes on.

But Kyle Bosman isn't kerrazzy...hang on a second, is anyone actually watching the same Gametrailers as me? It doesn't seem that way.

I though Kyle was quite glib and sarcastic at times, but that often underpinned some interesting and salient points. And he was certainly not anything approaching Markiplier, Jacksepticeye or the other morons on youtube who have to be wacky as strawberry float to stay relevant. I'm pretty sure Photek has accidentally logged onto a mirror universe version of youtube where everything is opposite.

I liked listening to Kyle talk on The Final Bosman. Didn't always agree with him but he has a very unique charm and some interesting viewpoints. Some of his skits were pretty funny.

I hope he lands on his feet. Well, I hope that for all these dudes.

70 pages on gaf

Apparently Ben popped up on the twitch chat to say they're discussing doing something else together but to have realistic expectations because they all have real life commitments.

Funhaus Guys with James & Elyse Willems (Very recent Former GT Employee) and ScrewAttack talk about GT closing down:

Also here is Daniel Bloodworth's response to a NeoGAF thread whilst on his honeymoon:

Shame Blood found out the way he did, one of the supposed happiest times in your life marred by losing your job...

I don't really care about any of those games but that FF7 trailer is absolutely perfect and their reaction to it is wonderful. The disbelief, the slow realisation, the doubt and then just REMAKE.

E3 won't be the same this year.

Brandon talks about the future on Kinda Funny Games podcast this week. Looks like something's gonna happen very soon. :o :o :o

And Pachter talked about the closing down in his latest episode (great channel, btw, especially if you liked him whe he was on GT)
