I mean I’d love them individually to have 50% of the drive and skills of any of the solo YouTubers I follow, if they did their output could be phenomenal. But I gave up on that hope a while ago, because most of them seem entirely wedded to what they perceive to be their signature review format, which in reality is a bit outdated and are 10 a penny. Now I just want them to go back to producing the kind of output we were getting in the first couple of years after they launched, but even that seems a long way off currently.

I certainly have struggled with the more recent podcasts. Individually I thin there are some great personalities, but they do feel a little stuck in a rut compared to when they were at the best. I'm not sure, maybe it's just the format of a weekly format that ends up to tiring of it.

I used to listen/watch Kinda Funny and I found that they quickly descended into "What we do" when they didn't really feel like they were trying to push the boat anymore.

I hope maybe when they can all get back together we might see some of the spark again.

Not gonna disagree about the output but also I feel like I'm seeing the same with other similar outlets. Quick look at GBs feed and it's all live streams and podcast too. KF are doing cool things but I kinda burnt out with them after the Rooster Teeth stuff happened. I wasn't that motivated to watch them much after. Their direction became way more "produced" which I know sounds stupid but it lost the original identity. I get that EZA might be stuck in a rut somewhat, but I respect they stick to doing things they love and have full faith once things get to any level of normalcy they'll bounce right back. You can tell they have the hunger to return.

I find the issue with a lot of YouTubers is the constant pressure/need to put out content every day. It's probably in their interest at the moment - more views from everyone stuck at home.

Only gaming channels I really follow now are FunHaus, who loses a lot when they're not in the same room, and RKG, the ex-IGN UK Prepare to Try guys who have always only uploaded once or twice a week anyway.

I like EZA, but don't watch them as much as I did. But, I tend to do this with them and other things too. Like I watch hours a day for months then nothing at all for months and it repeats as a.cycle. I only really watch Consolevania, I did watch AVGN, but more Kames and Mike Mondays which I haven't for an age.

I don't really watch other yoitubers unless the are people from here.

I'm not sure i have enjoyed their content as much since the move to the studio. It just doesn't feel as cosy. Obviously things are different now anyway, but returning (at some point) to the somewhat sterile studio venue is not going to be as welcome to me as if they were going back to Brandon's garage.

I think the new consoles could reinvigorate the format, with everybody eager to see the limited number of new games and new dashboard etc being streamed, and the excitement / interest that generates.

I've never supported EZA via Patreon, but have fairly consistently watched/listened to the podcast, Frame Trap, Friend Code, their reviews, and the odd other show here and there. I've never really seen where the money goes though. Are they still bringing in $40-50k a month? That seems like a ridiculous amount of money to support what they actually do, given that most of them don't do this full-time. How much money does it cost to do streams and podcasts? There was the big push to get the money for the studio, but unless I've missed something major, I haven't seen any real benefit to that move.

Now that Kyle's gone my concern would be that they've lost a big source of creativity. What's next - more streams? That seems to be what they consistently fall back on, with less produced and scripted content, which I'd argue they're better at and is more interesting. They're definitely some talented and likeable guys, but there's nothing that sets them apart at the moment.

They're all full time. The Patreon money is their wages.

Took me a while to get used to the studio vibes too. But their group streams still being a joy to watch more than makes up for it.

\they have hunt HUber on Patreon now. I don't do it anymore so will have to wait. There's a few patreons I'd like to support, but until I sort out my debt it ain't happening. Though I should be fine for a dollar.

I've also found the post Kyle era podcasts a slog. It doesn't help that we're in a slow news era without E3 hype, but Gaming Gladiators is so damn flimsy and Blood adds nothing as a co-moderator.

I really enjoyed the betting special. It needs more Don generally tbh, but I guess he is committed to Funhaus / RT.

Didn't know Don worked at RT too. Is it mostly editing stuff or is he a personality there?

An editor. I have only seen him on stream with other members of Funhaus a handful of times, but on those occasions his dry, clean humour really makes an interesting change from the rest of the FH crews "antics".

I think he’s part of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest on Youtube.

Here’s my bets for tonight’s PS5 Reveal using the EZA Questions from the betting special and $1000 Don Bucks [Minimum of 5 Bets Must be placed]. Just for fun;

#1. Last of Us 2 and Ghosts of Tsushima not first - 2/1 - my bet 100.

#2. Zoom call will be shown exceeding 15 people - 4/1 - my bet X.

#3. Next Gen Free Game Announced [no ports] - 5/1 - my bet 200.

#4. Horizon 2’s subtitle bigger than 8 characters - 6/1 - my bet X.

#5. Solid state drive will be said more than 7 times [no abbreviated SSD allowed] - 7/1 - my bet X.

#6. Transports you into another world or words similar will be said under 3 times - 3/1 - my bet 100.

#7. Something or someone will be presented on a pedestal with fog - 9/1 - my bet X.

#8. Silent Hill will reveal itself - 5/1 - my bet 200.

#9. Knack will show up - 8/1 - my bet 400.

#10. There will be a Nintendo Nod - 7/1 - my bet X.

#11. Microsoft will wait more than 24 hours to announce the X price after the PS5 reveal ends - 3/1 my bet X.

My longshot bets; There will be a new Crash game and Sly Cooper game shown [separate games] shown in the reveal.

Wow, so they're all full-time? Last I heard it was only 2-3 of them. IMO that makes their output much worse then, both in terms of quantity and quality.
They have 8 or 9 people working full-time on Easy Allies and most of what they do is group streams and a weekly podcast. Really doesn't seem like they have any motivation to change from that either, which sounds like part of the reason Kyle left.

After 4 years I've finally cancelled my subscription. I was only on the lowest tier, after downgrading a few years ago, and though I can still afford it I just feel like there are other people out there who deserve it more. Plus at this stage I think they’re just coasting along and almost need a drop off in Patrons to wake them up a bit.

The Last of Us spoiler mode discussion was decent but that’s about the only video of there’s I’ve enjoyed throughout the whole lockdown period. I hope I’m motivated to sub at some point again in the future but on recent form I can’t see anything other than my just drifting off them altogether.
