No, it's a lie. Lord Flashheart will never die.

As others have said, I grew up watching Bottom and he really was a comedic genius. The Young Ones is amazing (my dfather in law was an extra in one episode  ) but Bottom rally is the best sitcom ever made. It's timeless for me.

I've grown up watching Rik on TV and I was lucky enough to see him many times live, including all the Bottom Live stage shows.

Everyone has a favourite character he portrayed, my favourite was always Richard Richard in Bottom.

This is the worst. Grew up loving The Young Ones and Bottom. I don't know if any TV show has made me laugh as hard as the first time I saw the Private Plane episode of Blackadder.

"If word gets out I'm missing, five hundred girls will kill themselves. And I wouldn't want them on my conscience, not when they ought to be on my *face*! Hello? Cancel the state funeral, tell the king to stop blubbing, Flash is not dead! I simply ran out of juice! And before five hundred girls all go 'oh, what's the point in living any more?' I'm talking about petrol! Woof!"

RIP :(

I remember laughing a lot when seeing Bottom etc when a youngster, but tried to watch it about a year ago and thought it had aged very badly.

He's such an animated guy that I can visualise the whole scene perfectly by reading that. From his crazy physical comedy and facial expressions to the venomous way he'd belt out insults to Eddie. Laughed out loud reading it. He was great.
