Nah, PS+ with the PlayStation. Getting it on PC was chip as feck and I wanted to play with the people I regularly play games with on it. Switch I bought on release as I thought it may get use (it hasn't really) and the Xbox I either got cheap or its part of game pass I forget, TBH.

After 2,232 matches on this I've finally been promoted to Platinum  Going to call it a night as I know I'll end up getting relegated almost immediately.

This game is breaking my heart. The problem with it is, I really enjoy it plus, for me at least, I play just as good while listening to music/podcast/radio so it's one of the easiest online games I can play, I don't need a headset or anything (unlike 99% of other online games). I can't get out of gold rank...I can only carry a team so far and the vast majority of gold players are trash. I'll go on a winning streak one win away from platinum and we ALWAYS lose.

The jump from Diamond to Champion is a million times worse because everyone believes they’re supposed to be at the higher ranks and thinks they’re the best player in the team.

I remember when I finally got promoted to Champion I had a winning streak and ended up at Champion III in no time. I had 9/10 wins for the season reward and then went on the worst losing streak of my life to plummet all the way down to Diamond III. It was 4:30 am on a work night and I was just chasing my losses. Never got the reward in the end, staying at 9/10.

That was the point I decided to quit the competitive game. I was showing traits of true addiction.

I was a diamond 2 back when my mates played with me but ive slowly dropped and dropped. This is the longest ive been Gold ever. Biggest problem with Gold rank players is they chase the ball around constantly, they NEVER rotate (which means I'm usually at the back) and they seem to just want to hit the ball cos they can which leads to not only taking ball away when I'm about to score (almost every game, seriously) to scoring an OG just cos they can hit the ball.

Last night, I had 2 shots with 'no keeper' in hit away from me and when I was saving a shot our player hit it back over me into the goal. If I can give any Rocket League player 1 tip its, at Gold/Plat rank, sometimes, just f**king leave the ball if you think you're gonna score an OG, also if no one on opposing team is near it and you touching will mean just hitting it sideways, maybe hold back a second and team mate will have a better angle. I do this all the time and when we score no one notices but its a huge thing.

Yeah the game can be infuriating. I'm not great at it and I do make the wrong decisions but I at least try and play sensibly, rotating with my team and trying to be aware of what shots they're lined up for. So often I'll be hanging back and just watching both teammates chase the ball and get in each others way. Invariably I'll get spammed with 'what a save!' if the other team score

The Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5 are launching this week, and you can feel the excitement! We're pleased to announce that you'll be able to play and enjoy Rocket League on all the new consoles at launch, and your Rocket Pass progress and inventory will transfer to the new consoles with your Epic Games Account. Players will enjoy significantly faster load times and improved splitscreen performance on all new consoles. Plus, there are some special enhancements coming to the game later this year depending on where you're playing. Check all the enhancements for each platform below:

ROCKET LEAGUE ON XBOX SERIES X

HDR requires HDR10 compatible display and HDMI 2.0 cable or better (included with Xbox Series X)

Performance:

Game runs at 2688x1512 resolution (70% of full 4K) at 120 FPS with HDR

Game UI runs in 4K

ROCKET LEAGUE ON XBOX SERIES S

Following a game update later this year, a new “Video Quality” setting will be added within the Video tab of the Settings menu, allowing users to select Quality vs Performance.

Quality:

1080p Resolution at 60 FPS with HDR

HDR requires compatible HDR10 display

Performance:

Game runs at 1344x756 (70% of Full 1080p) Resolution at 120 FPS with HDR

UI displays at 1080p

Requires a TV or monitor 120 Hz capable display

HDR requires a compatible HDR10 Display and High Speed HDMI 2.0 cable (included with Xbox Series S)

ROCKET LEAGUE ON PLAYSTATION 5

Available at launch: 4K Resolution (checkerboard) at 60 FPS with High Dynamic Range (HDR)

4K and HDR require compatible displays

Requires compatible HDMI cable (included with PlayStation 5)

Stay tuned for more info on the exact timing of next month's game update. We hope you enjoy these enhancements to Rocket League on your new consoles!

https://www.rocketleague.com/news/play- ... station-5/

Seems like they're all currently running the XB1X/XB1//PS4 Pro versions so that explains the native v checkboard 4K atm. Back-compat PS4 games cannot take advantage of PS5 features like 120FPS output which explains the lack of that. Sounds like its easier/cheaper to upgrade the Xbox versions so no next gen patch for PS5 announced.

Season 2 Drops December 9 in Rocket League with Xbox Series X|S Optimizations

Do you hear that? It’s the arrival of Season 2 in Rocket League! Check out the music-themed season when it goes live on December 9. This setlist is packed with new content, so here’s everything you can expect.

New Rocket Pass

A new Rocket Pass is ready to take the stage on December 9. The 70+ tiers of items is headlined by the newest car, R3MX. This sleek new car is ready to rock immediately for all Rocket Pass Premium users, and the encore, the R3MX GMT, awaits at tier 70.

Plus, there are plenty of opening acts in this Rocket Pass like the Filiformer and EQ-RL Decals, Woofer, and MTRX Wheels, and the Riser and Light Show Goal Explosions. And, for the first time, some of the items found in Rocket Pass will pulse and flash to the beat of the menu and Arena music! You can see all 70 tiers of items on the Season 2 Rocket Pass site.

Don’t forget, you’ll also get an XP Boost and extra Weekly and Season Challenges with Rocket Pass Premium to help you unlock new tiers even faster. You’ll also get access to the pro tiers after tier 70, where you’ll unlock painted, certified, and special edition versions of select Rocket Pass items!

New Arena

It’s not a concert without a venue. That’s why the gates are opening for Rocket League‘s newest Arena, Neon Fields! Look out for this colorful soundstage in online and private matches when Season 2 goes live. Catch a glimpse of it in the Season 2 trailer above.

Player Anthems

There’s going to be a new way to celebrate when Season 2 goes live. Player Anthems are the latest customization item you can equip to hear your favorite songs play after goals, epic saves, and after earning MVP honors. You’ll be able to unlock new songs and songs you’ll recognize from the history of Rocket League through Challenges, Rocket Pass, and the Item Shop!

New Content from Kaskade

Season 2 even has its own marquee act: Kaskade! We teamed up with electronic music label Monstercat and hitmaker Kaskade to release new music inspired by Rocket League that you’ll be able to hear in-game. Check out the first track, “Flip Reset,” with Will K, in the Season 2 trailer above and stay tuned for more Kaskade music throughout the season.

Xbox Series X|S Enhancements

We announced last month that Rocket League is getting optimizations on Xbox Series X|S, and those will arrive in an update the day before Season 2 goes live. Soon, you’ll be able to enjoy Rocket League at a blistering 120 frames per second. A new “Video Quality” setting will be added within the Video tab of the Settings menu, allowing users to select Quality vs Performance.

Xbox Series X

Quality: 4K resolution at 60 FPS with HDR
Performance: Game runs at 2688×1512 resolution (70% of 4K) at 120 FPS with HDR
Xbox Series S

Quality: 1080p Resolution at 60 FPS with HDR
Performance: Game runs at 1344×756 (70% of 1080p) Resolution at 120 FPS with HDR

New Limited Time Mode

There’s a new featured guest joining the show throughout Season 2: Rocket Labs! Rocket Labs will be added periodically throughout Season 2 as an LTM Playlist. In this LTM, you’ll be able to check out non-standard, and even experimental, Arenas featuring Soccar and other game modes. Stay tuned later in Season 2 when Rocket Labs will make its LTM debut!

Get ready for a game update on December 8 at 4 p.m. PST (12 a.m. UTC December 9). We hope you’re ready to turn Rocket League up to 11 when Season 2 goes live on December 9!

Not really a fan of mobile games, but just tried out a few matches on Sideswipe and it's pretty good. I recommend checking it out if you're a fan of the main game.
