Wow what a fantastic discussion

What a great counter point, I can really see where you're coming from.

Does anyone know how the item drops work in this? I've been playing for hours trying to get a Painted or Certified item for the achievement and it's basically stopped giving me things. I'll never get one at this rate.

Why would Nintendo allow its games onto a rival portable console?

Well I mean they have cross play with Steam but I don't think they particularly see them as a competitor

I think it's because they have the biggest install base and therefore by doing cross play with the other two consoles it inadvertently helps them (in terms of matchmaking etc)

It doesn't need helping, you think finding a game of rocket league on Xbox is hard or something?

It's to help console sales.

If your school friend has rocket league on the PS4 then you have to ask you parents to buy you a PS4 at Christmas.

Microsoft were the same last generation with the 360, they weren't prepared to share their install base because it's a sales driver, something which they don't have now.

You get an item after every game but I think there's a 10 hour (?) cap per week (?).

Basically if you play more than X hours per X time then the items stop dropping until the next week.

The items seem to be completely random also. I got decals for the longest time and then suddenly I got about 7 rare crates in a single game session

There's an achievement tied to random loot drops?

Yeah, three of them. I have everything else so I'm just playing randomly in the hope one drops. It's frustrating. :x

Cheers BID0, maybe I'll give it a rest for a bit and try next week.

Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!!! Everyone’s favorite dimension-hopping, Blips & Chitz-loving malcontents are coming to Rocket League in our 2nd Anniversary Update!

Thanks to our friends at Adult Swim and Adult Swim Games, Rick and Morty (with friends in tow) will be available as FREE customization items starting on July 5. Rick and Morty will be available as Antennas, along with ‘Cromulon,’ ‘Mr. Meeseeks,’ and ‘Mr. PBH’ Toppers, an ‘Interdimensional GB’ Rocket Boost, and some familiar-looking ‘Sanchez DC-137’ Wheels. We have to let Errkal know about this - he's a big fan of R&M! I dunno if he's into Rocket League, though...

Ooo interesting, I've never played rocket league but is something I keep looking at, I'm possibly going to get a XBoneS in the next few months so might have to grab this too.

I had a few games on this lastnight and it was RAGE inducing, people on my team just chasing the ball around like lemmings and never EVER defending. It really can be annoying when others are so bad or just don't care. I got demoted 2 tiers in 6 games, each of them I was the MVP but couldn't win.

Started this yesterday, might have to do a load of offline for practice. Getting creamed online just isn't fun especially when it seems your whole team is doing strawberry float all the entire time other than hit you when you have the strawberry floating ball....

Is there a way to match with people of your level as getting matched with pro people just seems a good way to turn people off from the game when they spend the whole time getting beaten.

After 10 games in competitive it should put you in your skill level.

Why not just do it from the start.

I seem to be getting the hang of it although so far it seems 70% of the game is try not to get hit by your own strawberry floating team

Yeah, ball chasing can be very prevalent. Best to hang back and wait for openings when with team mates like that.

Yeah I'm learning that fast. Hang back and try and plan ahead a bit.

Quite good though although the rage monster in me hates it as I hate loosing haha

They have to work out your skill level, Halo 5 and Overwatch have the same system, I can't be doing with Halo's version though cos you get absolutely destroyed for TEN games.

I'll join you for games if want, don't need mics really.
