I decided I wanted to give Rocksmith a go, so bought Rocksmith 2014 online for PC, and ordered a physical copy of the original game plus the real tone cable. Upon receiving the physical copy and activating the code in Steam, it said I already owned the game and that it was Rocksmith 2014.
Querying this with the seller, they have said that Rocksmith no longer exists and it has been completely replaced by Rocksmith 2014. Rather than me return the game and cable to them, they've offered a 50% refund, which I've accepted as that makes the cable cheaper than normal.
However, if Rocksmith no longer exists, how come it is still available to purchase on Steam? My plan had been to own both versions of the game so I could import the original games songs into Rocksmith 2014. How can I go about getting the songs from the first game?
Does anyone still play Rocksmith? I've been playing it a bit but it seems to be dying a bit. It's not on the top steam games list, I seem to be getting really high up the guitarcade scoreboards. New songs are being released but I really don't think it's that used any more.
Not sure if anyone is still into this, but I picked this up for £7.99 on PS4 in the closing minutes of it being on sale. So far, it's way better that the original I had on PS3, with much quicker loading, restarts, more accurate tracking, less lag (on my setup anyway). I can see me getting into this way more than the first one.
