No, I mean, how long ago did you post it? I've gone back several pages and can't find it. How far is Tomous digging?

It's from the football thread.

Football thread :dread:

People really shouldn't be allowed in both, one or other, pick your side and stick to it.

Not sure I can agree with this, the Euros was a brilliant month and for me is up there with our rugby successes given how bad we've traditionally been at football.

You're right though that in Wales football is a sideshow compared to the rugby, internationally at least. I'm going to the Wales game tomorrow and would love there to be anything like the atmosphere you get in Cardiff for the Six Nations, but unfortunately most people probably don't even know we're playing.

Too preoccupied with England.

Wales are now number 1 in the world :toot: Although we have to draw or win tomorrow to have it be officially recognised as the rankings are only officially updated on Mondays.

It doesn't mean much and without beating NZ nobody would really take it seriously but it's still cool to see Wales at the top of the rankings. Although this is probably the peak before a load of our first team get injured in our ridiculously intense World Cup warm-up schedule and then we go out in the group stages with a loss to Fiji.

That's the spirit. :D

But seriously. With the Southern teams all proving they can beat one another, and with the Northern teams all on par with them (well England, Ireland and Wales) we could really be in for a fun world cup. Let's hope that Wales don't get too many injuries though!

Is it warm up games on now? Didn't realise it had started again.

Edit: I see, just read about it. Wish I'd watched it now :toot:

I made the mistake of watching it at Twickenham with a few English friends. Mistake. So many individual handling errors :dread:

I don't think it makes much difference to Photek, he only skulks in here when Ireland are doing well or to have a dig at England once in a while.

Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

If Ireland beat England next week we go number 1! Then we play Wales twice. Think it's going to be like musical chairs the next few weeks

It’s all a bit strange anyway. Argentina down in 11th? Realistically they are far better but just play against 3 superior teams all the time so their ranking never improves.

Yeah ranking international Rugby is about as helpful as ranking your own offspring - it's essentially meaningless, causes arguments, ends up hurting everyone's feelings and at the end of the day everyone knows who's the favourite anyway!
