Nearly played an hour of this. Initial bullet point impressions.

Looks like dark souls 2 ps3 in 1080p
Some textures are shocking - ps3-esque
Controls well
Faster than ds2
Enemies are varied and fun to fight
Bloodborne influences aplenty

Overall i just want this game to look a bit better. FROM should really be getting more out of the ps4, although the scale is magnificent. Day one then.

DS2 looked gooseberry fool. It doesn't have the graphics of, say bloodborne then?

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

The Bloodborne influence is clear and it looks better than Dark Souls II. There's some early footage on the last page and there's newer footage on YouTube. The final version of Bloodborne looked great but the framerate wasn't consistent at all so it would be better if this doesn't look as good but runs better on consoles.

Put it this way - the original dark souls 2 looked better than this, which is worrying, but not the end of the world.

I'm talking about the initial reveal with those amazing lighting effects. This is still nowhere near that, which is a joke! Bloodborne looks better imo, but then it is a ps4 exclusive...

That initial reveal never made it to the final game because it was downgraded for consoles. Comparing anything to that is pointless because you'll never be able to play that build. Bloodborne targeted 30FPS, while Dark Souls II aimed for 60FPS, so that's why it looks better.

Yeah, this didn't do much for graphics impressions, but it played really well. Apart from the horrible framerate of course. Wouldn't say it was as bad as gamerforever's making out either, it's definitely better looking than DS2

Did you see the texture on that fallen dragon? That was shocking - ps1esque.

Yep, game looks better than ds2, but could be better. I thought the framerate was ok.

Now the long wait until march, unless they give us another play sometime before then!

The PC requirements have been released. They're pretty modest so I'm looking forward to downsampling it while keeping it running at 60FPS.

If you're like me and enjoy collecting the hardback guides for the Souls games, you might be keen to know that the Collector's Prima guide is only £13.59 at WHsmith.
http://www.whsmith.co.uk/products/dark- ... 0744017045

You'll have to collect it from store for that price, but no biggie if you're in town anyway for a shop.
It's £20 everywhere else I'm sure. I've done a lot of searching online tonight
Feel free to best it, by all means though, peeps.

Pretty good deal! I wish the original was remastered as I never did complete it.
