I'm happy for him, I heard he attempted this a while ago and got hit once right near the end.

After seeing that I think I'm gonna try a dual wielding play through. Doubt I'm good enough but worth a shot, eh?

many people have suggested that all the Souls games are 'better' without a shield

11 hours in and this is so much better than DS2. And it looks gorgeous. Currently exploring Irithyll of the Boreal Valley and it's so maze-like. I keep thinking, "I'll see what's round this corner and then come back to check around the other corner" only to find that the path I've gone down leads deeper and deeper into the level with yet more twists and turns in different directions. Then you find a shortcut and find yourself somewhere familiar. It's awesome.

Currently using the executioner's sword +4 and it's pretty damn good. Really powerful but has a decent speed that is much quicker than a lot of the heavy hitting swords I've used in the past 2 games. Some people might think it's boring but I always play the tank.

strawberry floating Champion Gundyr! I've been stuck on him for days now. I'll have an hour's try every few days and I always get him down to that last chunk of health but his increased speed at that point is my downfall every time.

I've removed all of my armour so I'm quicker at dodging and it's working but I just can't get in those final blows.

Perhaps the hardest boss I've ever fought in these games but I'm so determined to do him in. I've been stuck for so long though now.

Also getting my ass handed to me by a teleporting ass hole that I don't remember the name of. And when I did kill him, he was revived by some witchy cow. Don't feel I stand a chance against it which is why I'm devoting myself to Gundyr.

Been so close so many times to killing the Prince dude and his little Prince brother on his back today. I will manage it eventually. One of the times I nearly did it I only needed to get three more hits in and if I'd have had one more estus flask I'd have probably done it. Honestly though, I had gotten really lucky on that attempt as his little bro had barely done any magic and they'd also barely teleported at all.

Started into this. It's more enjoyable than the second one so far. The game has started to branch out a bit, I just killed the Crystal Sage and made it to the Cathedral of the Deep. Also opened up Farron swamp or whatever the strawberry float it's called.

That was one of my favourites. Sometimes the bosses are just so hard I instantly give up and get co-op partners, but they were the optimum difficulty where I felt like a badass because it was so hard, but never felt like quitting.

Havent managed to beat Lorian or his cunty brother. I sold my PS4, got another one a few weeks back and didn't realise all my save data went with my last console. :|

My character was so overpowered i thought id walk it, but I still got strawberry floating smashed. Walked through nearly all of the bosses before that.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Recently got back into this after previously getting stuck on the Abyss Watchers. I started a new save and am doing much better now that I'm blocking more and not trying to play like Bloodborne and dodge all the time. Up to the last Lord of Cinder now (the giant as I missed him previously) and from my quick go it seems he will be relatively easy.

I think I prefer the faster pace of Bloodborne overall but still a great game. Although like Bloodborne I have no clue what's going on with the story, and I can't parry for gooseberry fool

Oh I finished this by the way. I've been really tempted all month to start a new game plus but I already have a long list of unplayed games that I need to crack on with.

I was playing this last night, made it to the bog level. Saw one of those Dark Knight dudes from the New Londo Ruins in DS1

He raped me. I died. Embarrassing.

Is the ringed city a DLC area? Because I'm not bothering with the DS3 DLC. I found I didn't really enjoy the DLC much in the first 2 DS games and by the time I got to them, I'd be ready to finish the game off so I never really had the drive to see them through. So I just think it'd be a waste of my dollar to get the DLC for 3. The base game is more than enough for my needs.

Perhaps if they're all on Steam for a fiver one day I'll bite. Really tempted to start NG+ tonight but will likely end up just playing Vampire Bloodlines.

How cheap has the DLC been on PSN?

Currently the base game is £15.99 and I think the game plus DLC is £24.99, with the season pass being £11.99 on its own.

Problem is, I still has all of DS2 to play, so if the whole lot will eventually drop to £15 (that's how much DS2 cost me) I'll hold off. But if this is the cheapest it's likely to go, I'll buy it now and have it on the backlog ready.
