Went to have a go on this last night only to be faced with a 7GB update download! How on earth can an update need to be that big? Presumably this is associated with the new DLC, but seeing as I'm unlikely to buy that any time soon why does my update need to be so bloomin' massive!?

When was the last time you played it? One of the previous updates had a ton of balance changes and stuff. The newest update for me is 3GB.

I did the Dark Souls DLC for the first time in NG+ along with the extra bosses (Vendrick, Ancient Dragon and Darklurker) in Dark Souls 2 on NG+. I don't know how hard this game gets as I've only played it through once but the others weren't that bad since although the enemies were stronger so were you and you already knew where the enemies were, had better equipment etc.

Nah lol I'll just do it in ng+. I finished with a good character tbf and spent a few hours at the end collecting kit and upgrading weapons so no excuses lol
Actually I am waiting for a deal on psn for all the dlc haven't bought it yet

first boss is an absolute shocker so I wouldn't even bother trying that one on NG+. Multiple stage boss fight that starts with two enemies, then one with what might be the most HP of any boss in the game.

You can permanently kill the angels by killing their host things that are those enemies that have burst out the back of the hollows with the stones on their backs.
In the second area there's a giant that summons ghost archers who pelt you with arrows but they're pretty easy to avoid for the most part. There's another one later on and that's the bit I'm up to.
The first DLC was definitely much better and more traditional Dark Soul. This one just sort of feels like sprints through gauntlets of enemies so far.

Completed this tonight. Definitely gets a lot better after the second area and the next three bosses (one is optional) are really good. You can be summoned to fight as the second last boss like the Old Monk in Demon's Souls which is cool but it's almost always pointless because you're always against three or four other players. Quite a few nice new bits of armour and weapons by the end of it including the GIANT DOOR SHIELD a.k.a my new favourite invasion troll.
A lot of nice lore stuff as well.

They probably used Harvest Valley because they were strawberry floating dying to get another poisoned swamp section in there
Dark Souls 1 Firelink is in there. It's the area you fight the first bosses. Loved that the NPC quest for this DLC was Patches.

Holy gooseberry fool @ the Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords btw. Dual-wielding ultra greatswords that hit like a truck and have a weapon art that stun locks people to hell. Been doing invasions this afternoon with them and it feels totally unfair sometimes, one of the attacks has crazy reach.
Apparently they've already been nerfed once so strawberry float knows what they were like before because they are ridiculous now
