You can cheese him by just going back through the archway. He'll follow you to the end but won't come through, leaving him open to attack for a few seconds before he despawns. He'll spawn again when you walk through, but his health won't reset and the damage you did will stay the same.

But this was just
ridiculous - I didn't even know that was the final fight! I didn't start an NG+ as I want to us this build for the DLC and don't want to restart the game.
So, on the whole, a brilliant game, the best in the series and just about tops Bloodborne as I feel it was a bit longer and felt more of an epic adventure, although I would say I prefer Bloodborne's combat as its risk/ reward mechanic is a lot more clever.
Yeah I haven't enjoyed his blind play through. I much prefer it when he knows what he's doing.
I also found it really annoying when he keeps saying that he thinks the game is about to end and he wishes there was more, when in reality there is a loaf more to go.
One from the other night has been his worst yet. Completely forgetting about the closest bonfire to a boss shortcut even though he saw the name of it on the bloody list of bonfires, and being utterly confused by a lift only going down. Missed two optional areas as well.
Back into this after a few weeks out. Im at Irithyll dungeon (those things that just drain your life bar ) and the distant manor. I presume theres a boss around here somewhere..
I've been watching the Super Best Friend play through which has been going alright, except that they decided to try and get the Usurpation ending and get tied up reading a guide which sours it. The only big issue is Pat playing between sessions and getting crazy over levelled, but at least it means fewer progress walls.
Also been watching A German Spy doing his blind lp.
Jesus that's painful. He's coming off a mentality of writing a guide since he worked on both Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne. His playing is glacial. A full 50 minute episode testing if Deep is a better weapon buff than fire, for example. Something like 10 viewer hours to get to Vordt because of multiple episodes of just farming Lothric knights for shards. Complaining that the game restricts access to weapons because he refuses to level dexterity (he minmaxed in order to go pure strength then complains he's restricted to pure strength weapons...what?). Constant complaining about enemy attack patterns instead of just learning how to counter them. Constant complaining about fanservice not making sense. I get that Andre is egregious, I won't defend that and I let Siegward pass with a funny look, but going off on a rant about why the Mirrah set would be in Lothric is dumb. He gives people from Carim or Astora a free pass because they can't be fanservice, they were in DaS1. But heaven forbid someone from Mirrah came here...
Then there's just complaining that he doesn't have all the pieces of the puzzle yet and so has to guess on things despite playing for 60 hours. He's only just beaten the Abyss Watchers and hasn't explored the cathedral last I checked so he's only about 1/3 through. Of course he's not going to have everything.
I have no idea why I keep watching, tbh.
Anyway, been trying to farm Proof Of A Concord Kept recently since Darkmoons and Sentinels just flat won't summon for me. That's a hell of a grind.

that sounds horrific - why are you watching again?
Just killed the pontiff boss. Proceeded to be invaded by 2 players, i didn't think that could happen, lost 89000 souls because of it. Then, after id worked my way through the giants, killed the deacons, those banana splits who have some sort of crossbow that knocks you off the tower.
So, Ive killed the worm in the smouldering lake. A boss awaits me, instead i went searching and now I'm in catacombs with viscous fireball wielding gargoyle things, poison pricks and endless corridors
I am still at a standoff with the knights after the pontiff boss.
