Sold the hollow one. I've got that katana as a back up weapon from the naked samurai man. Which I've levelled to +8

I'm too far invested now. I might redistribute my stats as my carry load isn't that great.

Thanks mate

I accept that when I invade I'm the dickhead in the equation so it's not something I can complain about if they make it a 2 on 1 or use estus.

What is the actual worst, though, are people who invade you. When they try and get a suckerpunch while you're bowing or when they heal up.

I'm fine with 1v1 on invaders, but I won't spam estus because as soon as that happens, as the host, I have a huge advantage. But if they decide to make it a battle of attrition then I'll chug all day.

There can be honour in invasions.

Ive had a few hit me while i was bowing, or waving, or basically refusing to move to fight other than a real small space, I've also encountered some awful lag, where a hit registers at least a second after, and then Im dead as I didn't realise.

Its infuriating, but massively addictive.

So I invaded a game, and entered what can only be described as Gladiator. 2 players standing on a set of steps while 2 dark spirits fight it out between themselves.

I didn't know whether to murder the two with no armour or watch what unfolded. So I left.

Fight clubs <3

Always fun invading into one and just watching. You can see some really interesting builds.

Oh my god  Amazing stuff. The guy was ringing the bell and everything

Question about armour, now I'm up to nearly level 100 does the type of armour make a massive difference, i know the stats are different, but i feel the better armour is making me a worse fighter due to the weight etc.. does it really matter that much?

Defence works pretty strangely in DaS3.

Every piece offers a set amount just for being worn. This is the same across the board and while I can't remember the exact numbers, it's like a +20 for having rags on your head and a +20 for having the heaviest armour. This is a solid 20 point damage reduction from any incoming hit.

On top of that there are the absorption rates. So that rag will have 0.5% and the heavy armour will have 10%. So it's generally speaking better to go for the stronger armour. I made a theoretical full Havel's build which reduces all incoming damage by 40% on top of having crazy base defences because of the vitality needed to even carry it.

However, the undisputed best way to reduce damage is just to just avoid it completely so you're probably better off going for a fast-roll. If you get above 70% and fat-roll you're a sitting duck so I'd just equip the main weapon you want, the off-hand equipment you want then put on the heaviest stuff you can until you're about 69.9%.

The only good armour is the good looking armour.

So if you get over 70% carry weight, you slow down a lot yeah? I did notice just using some poison resistant stuff i picked up in the Consumed kings gardens enabled me to fight better, killed the champion gyundr (or whatever) first go today.

So I met Patches! Kind of ridiculous that his whole big trick is to lower you into the area with the giantswhen by that point in the game you have to have run past them once already anyway! Unless I went the wrong way around? In my case I'd already killed them  He's dead now anyway. banana split.

I think I'm addicted to this game, all day at work I've been thinking about my next move and my next play through, very rare i play games twice, but i can really see the benefit of doing this here, especially as I've monumentally strawberry floated up some of the story arcs without even realising.

Ive enjoyed this more than BB and I know I've still got a way to go

This game may be good but it's no Breaking Bad! :dread:

:shifty:

Yeah I figure in my first playthrough I'm going to miss a lot of stuff anyway. Like the girl who threw a hissy fit because I joined some fingering covenant? I hate the gaming trend of doing a "good" playthrough and then a "bad" playthrough too, that's not having choices that's making one choice before you even start the game.

Currently getting slaughtered by the tall dudes with insanely long attack combos in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. Trying not to use a shield so one mis-roll and it's all over. Beautiful area though

I'm working my way around the Cathedral of the Deep but I've hit a bit of a wall. There's a huge giant who doesn't take much damage from my attacks and, on the few occasions that I run past him, an armoured knight with a big shield decimates me in the basement. Can anyone suggest another place to visit?

You're gonna need to run past the giant. literally just leg it. And you can run past the knight but there are more of them.

If you can survive the fall it might be easier to drop down into that pit and run around his legs rather than his fists. If you head past a second giant and up some stairs you'll be close to the boss battle.
