The first giant can be cheesed by aggroing him then running back toward the doorway you came through and firing a couple of arrows at him. He can only be damaged while aggrod by the way.

I don't really want to cheese so I'll try running to the basement a few more times and fighting the knights there. If that doesn't work, I'll just keep running :toot:

I call it being tactical, they were far too difficult for me when I first met them, even one at a time, level up a few times and you'll be fine, mine go down with pretty much one hit now

Just killed the dragonslayer boss. A lot easier than I thought, I'd been dreading what was coming at the end of lothric castle. Did it in one go, probably helps my character is now powered up to a point not much gives me bother.

This game is tremendous.

Is there any way to kill the fire breathing dragon in the first area without some cheese? I mean, he just flew away at low health so I imagine I'll fight him later but projectiles/magic was the only way to go there right?

I had the Executioner's Greatsword so I upgraded it to +3 and managed to get past the knights in Cathedral of the Deep. This led me to a dead end and I was then ambushed by a huge spider :dread: After I beat it, I decided to try falling to the giant's feet to try to beat it that way. The dark looking liquid put me off trying this method as I thought that it would make me a sitting duck but I managed to roll enough to avoid its attacks. Thanks for the advice, Pacman :toot:

The Deacons of the Deep boss fight was great as it's quite different to what has come before but it took me a few tries to beat it. At that point, I went back to take out the second giant as I ran past it because the sludge enemies were making it quite tricky to beat. I didn't know where to go next so I went back to explore more of the swamp in Road of Sacrifices which eventually led me to Farron Keep. I've explored a bit of it (the developers really like their poisoned swamps) but it looks like there's quite a bit more to see.

Executioner's Greatsword was my bread and butter for a REALLY long chunk of the game.

Pro-tip, in the area after Farron Keep it really shines as it does blunt damage. You want blunt damage in that area.

It'll be my weapon of choice until I find the Zweihander or a better greatsword.

I had a good look around the swamp and picked up some items while extinguishing the three flames. Some bits of the swamp really slowed my movement so I couldn't really explore the areas with the huge minotaur like monsters that shoot red skulls but I found another large titanite shard so my greatsword is now +4.

The Abyss Watchers make for an interesting boss fight as it's an extension of the Deacons of the Deep one but sometimes they attack each other. It feels like there's a great backstory here that I'm looking forward to discovering. I did pretty well on my first attempt but I seem to be getting too impatient now. I'll give it another go later today.

Just outside the boss area, there are two black skeletons that make short work of the enemies out there and even my character :o I did manage to take them out by luring one away and then finishing the other after he'd decimated the enemies so now I don't feel bad running past them :P

I managed to get the second phase of the Abyss Walkers down to one more hit but I got greedy and they beat me. Several attempts later, I wasn't even close to getting back to that point so I engaged in Jolly Co-operation to move on with the game. Now I'm deep in the Catacombs where I've found a suspicious looking goblet and Smouldering Lake. I'm guessing that the former is a boss battle so I'll return to that and search the Lake after that section is finished.

When I entered the Catacombs, I had expected that skeletons to resurrect themselves but it seems that only a few do so and only once. Nonetheless, it was still pretty tricky to make my way through the tunnels, especially with the traps that made it even harder to avoid getting hit.

Having fun being a Proof farm to help my fellow blues.

Equip Way of the Blue covenant. Ember up. Activate Dried Finger. Find a spot in Aldrich territory. Hide like a bitch and watch the courtyard become a team death match.

The smouldering lake has loot galore, so search it well, there is a boss in there to, but its not part of the main game, optional, but just make sure the loot the whole place.

What does the dried finger actually do?

I'll probably go there to take a break from Irithyll where I ran away from the beast on the bridge and the swordspeople who inflict frost annihilate me with their attacks.

The Wolnir fight just before this wasn't too bad but it took me a bit of time to work out to avoid its blue mist attack.
