Sorcery playthrough is pretty dull so far. You get Great Heavy Soul Spear very early on in the game and it's substantially better than every other spell so far (I've still got one scroll left to find and it's basically right at the end of the game which is a bit gooseberry fool). Shite in PvP as well thanks to the shite hitboxes and banana splits just rolling non-stop meaning you can barely hit anyone.

It doesn't feel anywhere near as helpful as miracles or pyromancy.

Had a few goes at the cursed tree boss in the undead settlement last night, seem to be able to get to stage two easily enough (i.e. when he falls through the floor) but then it all goes a bit wrong!

Going to have another crack at him tonight.

Keep your distance from him and stay to his right so he stands up and does that slam attack. He's stunned for a while afterward and it's easy to get a bunch of free its in on his arm.

He's through the fog door in the church after the bit where you have do dodge the massive arrows.

Is there a way to deal with those arrows? As in can you get to the tower that's shooting them and disable it, or is it a permanent obstacle?

I'll have to go back. I did go back to the place with the massive arrows to collect all the stuff (after I befriended the giant so he wouldn't throw them at me anymore).

See my comment for how to stop them. You have to go through them first though to get to him.

Go to the top of the tower and speak to the giant. The elevator has another elevator on top of it which a lot of people miss the first time around and that's how you get up.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade wrote:I was trying to get the yellowfinger Hysel invasion in Crucifixion Woods yesterday to get the Proper Bow emote for the master of expressions achievement. I finally got her to invade, and then got invaded by a real person at the same time. The NPC invader started attacking the real invader, i ran off to a corner somewhere, aggroing half the strawberry floating forest in the process, and used a seed of a giant tree. The real invader killed the NPC, which saved me the hassle and furthered the quest for me to get the emote, and then he had to deal with all the giants and crabs id aggroed  I walked out and waved him goodbye as 2 of the crucified giants smashed him to pieces

Is "Crucifixion woods" a real place name or one you gave to the place? Sounds a lot like where I am with the crabs and those strawberry floaters with the crucifixes strapped to their backs. I've got stuck against two bitches with clubs at the moment, I expect I will have to go back with a full stock of arrows and kill them at distance. This is how I'm progressing through most of this game, killing people at distance and running away a lot. I'd much rather be fighting hand to hand (as that would be quicker) and having to go with this tactic is spoiling the game for me.

In the ruins near by, did you
fall through the strawberry floating hole in the floor and get killed by one of the crucifix bastards? I've not dropped through the hole again but wondered if there is anything good in there, other than death

I had 10k of souls when it happened (two level ups based on my current soul exchange rate). Fortunately when I got back there they were up above so I didn't have to go back down to get them. As you can imagine, "LOL" was not what I was thinking at the time.

You can bow and arrow those banana splits from higher up if you go the right way round and go underneath properly. There's a set of armour in there I believe as well. Also brer how did you get your enemies to attack the invader???

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Use the seed of a giant tree, its a consumable item that makes enemies attack invaders. Great fun

So much fun in that area later on in the game.

I found a little ridge and killed them from that. Feels like a really poor way to progress in this game. Tried to beat the tree boss earlier but that felt like BS, it always seemed to get at me and I couldn't avoid it. Tried to summon an NPC but nothing near by where you could summon.

When you walk through the entrance to Firelink go up the stairs on the right and through the doorways outside and there's a tree there that looks like the ones in Dark Souls 2 that you used to enter the memories. You get an "examine" prompt when you stand in front of it and sometimes you'll get a Seed of a Giant Tree. You don't get one every time, from the wiki:
10% chance to spawn when invaded. Increases by 10% each time until maxing at 50%. Resets to 10% when obtained.

The tree I found really easy, get rid of the prayer people first and just concentrate on whacking the cysts :dread: when it does its ass bounce, back off. One of the easier ones for me, the first boss, strawberry floats sake, took me forever. :x

Unfortunately I'm clearly gooseberry fool at the game. The bitches keep spawning but the main problem is the tree itself, I don't seem to be able to avoid it. Is there supposed to be an area I can escape it or is there a particular way that I should be able to dodge it? Currently no plans to do further gardening.
