Yup, those are the aforementioned Chris Bratt vids I was talking about.

This one is amazing:

My email says I only get a theme.
Your Platinum is more Platinumy than mine... :?

No, you're right as it was only a theme. My apologies.

Did you tick for the newsletter in your PSN settings? If you untick, it may explains why you didn't get the email.

Hey, I did receive the avatar of Horizon Platinum at the end! :o

It was hidden on the dashboard (highlight Horizon) and see the PlayStation Store on the list. The avatar should appear on there! :toot:

Horizon Zero Dawn introduces a low difficulty ‘Story’ mode, out today

...jawa mode confirmed etc  . This does make it more likely that I'll give the game a go when it next crops up in a PS Store sale, though :toot: .

Blimey :o ... poor Cal  .

You know, I'd thought Horizon was in the PS Store sale at the mo' but I must have missed it. Hopefully it'll pop up again soon.

I can't see why the game needs an easy mode, it really isn't very difficult.

Similar to Witcher 3 I had to whack this up to the hardest difficulty to get any challenge out of it. That's not a brag, I'm nothing but average at games generally, you simply become so overpowered in the latter stages that nothing proved difficult to take down.

I finished this a few weeks ago. I thought it was absolutely superb, well worth the impulse buy. I loved the story, especially towards the end. Some of the quests felt a bit naff, a little bare bones in terms of background, story and difficulty but these were in the minority.

I didn't find the game hard, but then again I hadn't done anything with the difficulty settings. What I was thinking while playing was, "Are there different ways of playing the game in terms of combat?". I ended up only using 4, maybe 5 regularly.

I'd generally try and be stealthy to take out smaller machines and humans. For larger ones I'd run in, fire a few Tearblast arrows then alternate between a Ropecaster, spamming Freeze Bombs and firing Hardpoint Arrows. Sometimes I'd swap in a Rattler to shoot frozen enemies, something like a Stormbird as it's hard to miss.

Hmm, struggling on this.

I've made it close to Maker's End, however its guarded by a sealed wall, a bunch of thugs, watchers and a corruptor.

I'm trying to clear out the thugs so I can take on the corruptor one on one, but I sustain too much damage and have to go scavenging for health.

I return and it's like everyone's respawned :fp:

Started this yesterday and still pottering around (what I assume is) the prologue open world.

Good lord it's pretty. The quests/side quests all seem fairly standard - but good lord it's fun to play. Building quite an interesting world too

The only downside is the traversal, which after BotW, feels ridiculously constrained (I ran at rock and was befuddled I didn't just start ascending, despite it being months since I played BotW)

It's a lot more interesting a world than I initially believed it would be, I'll give it that.

I'm somewhere I presume about 3/4 of the way through the Frozen Wilds, with only a handful of main quests left to do elsewhere, plus that trading thing in Meridian, so I'd guess I'm maybe 80-90%+ through the whole thing. Not played in two months, since Battlefront II arrived on-scene. Need to rectify that.

Downside : It's Chloe from Life is Strange and now I irrationally hate the main character so much

Finished this the other week, the last few main missions were phenomenal, and the story was superb. For anyone looking into the Frozen Wilds, you'd be best to take that on right before the "Deep Secrets of the Earth" mission, as IIRC they added some dialogue there which references TFW.

I'm going through it on NG+ on Ultra Hard now and it's pretty good. I'll do a from scratch run on Ultra Hard afterwards I think, get really beat up.
