False | Nintendo WILL NOT be Revealing New Hardware at E3

I love E3 time!

I'm hopeful that Nintendo are working on a powerful portable console that can be used with a TV but I don't think that time is now. A revised Wii U seems most likely? Without the gamepad and a Wii remote instead to keep cost down and use a revised 3DS as a control pad?

Videogamer seem to believe its a new console and that compatible software will be shown

They are linking it with the fusion rumours from earlier this year

I can't see it being a new console.
The 3DS is in its prime and showing absolutely no signs of slowing down, whilst the Wii U is finally about to hit its stride with titles like Mario Kart 8, Smash Brothers, Bayonetta 2 and X all just around the corner.

3DS sales have slowed down. They had a massive year last year but so far this year they seen a huge drop, even Japan isn't hitting the same numbers as last year.

I can't see new hardware coming in the form of a game system, but QOL could be shown.

What more can be added to a handheld to make it stand out from the crowd though. 3d has been rather lacklustre and Nintendo are not known for going for awesome power so where do they go next?
Could they even get away with producing a handheld with more power than the home console they currently make which I'm sure is technically feasible at this point.

New 3DS with OLED screen. Take that Sony.

Now I'm tempted again .

I'm so glad they nipped this in the bud quickly because the last thing they need is people not getting Wii U based on this speculation.

Yeah I'm not overly disappointed either as I'm glad the focus will be on games as well. It's a copy/paste answer from the last 5 or 6 Nintendo E3's it but like a lot of people I'm hoping for either a Metroid/Star Fox/F-Zero announcements. Also maybe an new I.p or just something that shows a fresh, new way to make the most of the Gamepad.

So much for those websites and their sources that they were sure Nintendo were showing off new hardware though.

So IGN were wrong and then Videogamer.com thinking there was some truth in it posted a story that it had been confirmed to them by a 'trusted source.' No wonder there is a distrust of hacks that prioritise hits over facts.

Did you see the Fusion rumours? They were absolute, grade-A bullshit. Specs straight out of science fiction.

3DS sales have dropped in Japan due to a lack of new software compared to last year.

It'll pick up again later in the year when more stuff comes out.

Nintendo also have come out and said they won't be showing new hardware at E3, games websites just want hits.

A single screen GBA successor would be nice.

Won't ever happen though.

Glad these rumours have been pit to bed now, while I personally would like to see a revised Wii U console eventually I would much prefer they actually get a lot more content out on the thing first
