RUMOUR | Paper Mario Wii-U Incoming?

The rumour started as this;

So me, @Doctor_Cupcakes, and @Imranzomg (ShockingAlberto on NeoGaf) will share a rumor next week regarding an unannounced Wii U game.

We have about 4-5 sources that this unannounced Wii U game exists. And a lot of evidence behind it. @Doctor_Cupcakes @imranzomg

For the record, this Wii U game is published by Nintendo. It's not a third party game. @Doctor_Cupcakes @imranzomg

There's no secrecy. We just need the weekend to look over all the information. We'll spill the beans Monday.

Not a lost game. Not a game stuck in limbo. Not an eshop only game. Not an indie game. Not third party.

Never played any of the other paper Mario games.

The original and 1000 Year Door were fantastic. I would love a proper third game in the series.

I hope it's a Wii U port of Thousand Year Door. I never got to play that one.

This. Also seems odd to have not announced it either at e3 or the last direct.

I'd be happy for something like an HD Sticker Star with better item/boss fight design. I'd be over the moon for a TTYD like game.

I'd love to see a Paper Mario collection, with HD remasters of Paper Mario, TTYD and SPM, and also a brand new game.

Apparently "Not the game I wanted" equals "bad game" in some people's eyes.

And it was gooseberry fool. The perspective shifting sounded really interesting but it just boiled down to artificial dead ends and shifting to walk around them.

The first half of the game was good but the second half was average at best. The caveman level with the pipe password puzzle was absolute muck.

That'd be totally ace! I'm just imagining how cool it'd be to get the download version and always have those three hits ready to run on the Gamepad... amazing scenes!

Rather oddly, I've only played the two games in the franchise that everyone says are "bad"... Super Paper Mario and Sticker Star. I've only played a few hours of each but I enjoyed them. I was, after reading folks' views, ready for SPM to be a disaster... but I liked it. Yeah, there was a lot of talking and it was perhaps a wee bit slow, but I had fun and want to give it another go.

I have the original N64 cart and the Wii VC version of Paper Mario but have never played it; I'm not really sure why. It's on the catch-up pile.

Yes SPM wasn't a traditional Paper Mario and not the sequel I wanted but it was also pretty crap, the character and puzzle design was awful.

You could say the same non traditional things about Sticker Star but I enjoyed that.
