I felt RE4 was, but with a new control scheme - the following games have been more action based.

I don't really care if it's not a survival horror, so long as it's fun and interesting (and it was) I'm happy.

What? Things that make a survival horror game survival horror are a lack of ammunition and health items, along with the feeling of dread etc. You never feel in danger in RE4 due to having ammo and herbs coming out of every orifice.
