So with Tifa, it's better to power her up and then unleash her attack once you've staggered something right?

I wish there was a bit more detail on what kind of buffs she gets...

Re the spoilers: yeah, I'm definitely playing the original before ever staring this  Those changes sound like Square not having the stomach to properly remake it. Should have called it FF7: Reimagined.

On the contrary, the apparent “all bets are off” nature of this makes me more excited about it than anything else possibly could.

And if anything, the fact that it’s being remade is part of the plot only further justifies the inclusion of the word Remake in the title, vs just Final Fantasy VII (if it was simply a recreation of the original) or FF7: Reimagined (if it existed in a bubble independent of the original story).

In fact, with movies and games just consistently pumping out old product with a fresh lick of paint, I’d say that the most feverishly demanded one of those actually having something to say about it and having the balls to create something new with it that sits alongside, rather than supplants the original work, instead of just obeying their fans rabid demands is strawberry floating *brilliant*

Haven't read any of these spoilers but in general I'm pretty excited by the idea that they've mixed things up a bit - personally a straight up remake of the original with fancy graphics is not really that interesting.

Could not disagree with that more; by now "remake" carries clear connotations as to what to expect from a game carrying that moniker and what that would mean re what people believed this to be. So, at worst, they duped their fans into thinking this was something other than what it was from the get go.

Remaster is what you wanted by sounds, Remake is what we got. Wheres the dupe? Resident Evil 2 is a Remake and changed things.

I'd be bored as hell if they had remade this 1:1 having fully completed the original 3 times like most other people who love that game.

I'm not reading the spoilers but loving the additions so far while still including all the key points of originals up to this point anyway (Mako Reactor 5).

I think I'm a bit confused. :fp:

Is this a full game remake of the original of Final Fantasy 7?

I have never played the original one, but I know the original had three or four discs included. Can anyone clarify me on this?

Cheers.

No, it’s a remake of the first section.

Remake of the first bit, but four to six times longer to play.

The original had three discs, but in part this was down to what you could fit on a CD. FF13 was multiple discs on the 360 (DVD) and one on the PS3 (Bluray)...

Also this game has 2 discs, which should give you an idea of its size.

To Clarify further for BOR, the original first disc takes place entirely in a city call Midgar, this game is focused on that disc but greatly expanded, a lot of reviewers are saying it took them 35 hours to complete which is around the same time the entire original game took.

Also you'll be happy to know every piece of dialogue is subtitled, as you walk past civilians on the street it appears on the left hand side of the screen :D

Looking forward to this preloading soon on my ps4 pro. I never really got on with this back in 1997, but did enjoy the first part before giving up. I actually got to the end on the psp version about 10 or so years ago. The graphics in the demo are amazing and i will be taking my time with this.

The first disc goes all the way to the forgotten capital.

Midgar is about a third of it
