Cloud has some pretty funny lines in the original game. I thought he was a likeable protagonist.

Cloud in Advent Children is rubbish. Any character progression that happened in FFVII, tossed to the side. Mopey. Depressing. Crap voice acting. Terrible.

His voice in the trailer immediately made me think of Advent Children with his tone of voice :dread:

It sounds like the same guy as Crisis Core, probably the same guy as Advent Children. Suits him, I don't have a problem.

The more I watch the new trailer of this the more hyped I get. Don't even give a strawberry float it's not turn based anymore.

"We couldn't possibly fit all the content into one game!"

"We're cutting stuff that was in the original."

Lovely.

Yeah this is what I'm worried about, the original Cloud isn't the moody JRPG protagonist people often mock him as being.

They will of course do this so the can re-remake Final Fantasy VII or produce:

"Final Fantasy VII : The Directors Cut"
"Final Fantasy VII : Definitive Edition"
"Final Fantasy VII : GOTY + season pass"

Or just to add all the missing parts as DLC

Or better yet.

"Final Fantasy VII : Part 1"
"Final Fantasy VII : Part 2"
"Final Fantasy VII : Part 3"
"Final Fantasy VII : Part 4"
"Final Fantasy VII : Part 5"
"Final Fantasy VII : Part 6"
"Final Fantasy VII : Part 7"

*DLC to follow*

OR EVEN!!!

"Final Fantasy VII : The Directors Cut - Part 1"

etc...

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

Finished FFVII Plat!

And no I didn't use that strawberry floating R3 cheat. If they wanted to add that in they should have taken the trophy away for using it especially the Weapon Fights. Now means anyone can beat Ruby and Emerald

PLAY | Final Fantasy VII Rebirth [92h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S2, HiJack S1, The Apprentice S18
RACE | Westonbirt Half (March), Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

I was reading through the added cheats thinking they were cool additions: the no random battles is great, and I can kind of see use for the play speed up.

That full hp/limit one is disgusting, though.

Yep, the speed up helps with grinding so thats fine but the R3 makes you invincible which takes all the challenge out of the game. Tbf its not that hard anyway only the weapons but that's not the point. Makes the trophies pointless

Anybody can beat Ruby and Emerald. With enough patience there is a borderline fool proof strategy for killing them. They're arguably the easiest of the FF super bosses.

You're not doing Emerald right if it's not a one hit kill with Vincent or Barret, anyway.

Indeed the foolproof method I found out was:

Counter(Mastered)+W-Summon, Knights of the Round+HP Absorb, Mime

Deals with them without any real trouble

For Emerald I always went with giving the party leader mastered Final Attack linked to mastered Phoenix and a mastered Knights of the Round. The other two members had a Mime each and the rest of everybody's slots were mostly HP and MP pluses. For Ruby you need to change things a little but it's much the same.

Don't remember this strategy at all. What was it? Something to do with the Death Penalty for Vincent?

Death Penalty becomes stronger with every kill Vincent makes with it so kill 65535 enemies with it and the damage overflow glitch kicks in causing it to one shot practically anything

Missing Score becomes stronger the more mastered materia is in it so fill it with maxed Knights of the Round inflict beserk on Barret in battle and use some hero drinks on him and he'll one shot anything
