I don't get it.

If:
- Barrett only sounded like Mr T in FF7 because of a rushed translator adding the character quirk after the fact
- Barrett sounds like Mr T in the remake

Then Square DID change him.

It seems like the group saying "keep him the same" and the group saying "what's the point in the remake if nothing changes" are arguing the point opposite from what they mean?

Literally the works thing about Kotaku. Pretentious belled who loves himself and the sound of his own voice.

I'm still enjoying FFCII ReRelease. Rocketing through it though (3x speed on/off at a click is amzing)

This game seemed so long back in the day. I blasted through the steam version last year in about 25-30 hours. Even then, I was overpowered for the last boss. I've said it before, but I absolutely love the Materia system.

Be 'interesting' to see how they incorporate the materia system in this.

Struggling to see how the linking/pairing materia aspect works with that battle system.

Yeah I've just got Cloud back after Mideel. So fast :D

I think it helps I (still) remember the world/beats - so generally have a pretty good idea of where to go/how. Where as back at the time there was much more random world exploring to trigger stuff

I'm not permitted a response to this; and, anyway, this isn't the place for it. Just another example of how some are more equal than others. I'll leave it there.

I'm now able to go into North Crater for the end...game says 24 hours on the clock (I'm assuming 3x still counts time normally)

I could grind levels for Ruby/Emerald Weapons, complete GS games for prizes or grind and GoldenC....but otherwise I think I've done pretty much everything.

A lot of that stuff isn't really fun to do.

I think I stopped off at the magic pot grinding area for an hour or two before kicking Sephiroth's ass. My Steam game time says 29 hours on checking.

:?:

I've breezed pretty much all the battles so far (high 50s levels) and I'm just sure I can be bother (even 3x and all limits) to push levels up much higher.

The Golden Saucer stuff is just for "completionist" as well.

There's an area in the North crater where there are these magic pot enemies. They give mad amounts of EXP. You give them elixirs. You can easily duplicate elixir items with a glitch.

On my original copy I hit 77 hours played with every character at level 99 :dread: I could do the end boss without taking a hit

Can you elaborate on this a bit more please jiggles.

Is it just me that thinks Barrett's design looks ever so slightly white-washed?

Not to posit that in an accusatory way, I'm just not a huge fan of the design. Not quite this guy for me:

I think it's just the lighting in the new trailer.

But this is just part 1? Are people even going to be interested with this being episodic? Feels like a silly decision and it should just he launched on ps5 in 2021.

So 9 months from release and they've not even confirmed how the episodic stuff will work?

And no sign of Tifa etc in trailer (that was 2nd reactor right?)....

How small is each episode going to be...:S

This trailer exclusively showed the first reactor mission and journey back to Sector 7.

The previous trailer showed stuff from after Don Corneo's mansion, with Tifa in the party (but not onscreen).

A lot of people are assuming this goes to the end of Midgar but honestly, I feel like it could go to Junon.
