Looks awesome and so glad it doesn’t have the awful turn based battle system, which really should stay in the past.

Still not sure on whether this is being released in episodes because of the price of the title, which seems to be like any top release.

Each episode is a full game, hence the 2 discs just for Midgar alone.

I was surprised by this change. I'm not saying the new system doesn't sound good, but it appears to be far different to the original game.

Yeah, the messaging didn't seem clear; there is talk of "two Blu-rays" and collector's editions, but I wonder if this release is gonna be the whole game or just the first part?

It looks gorgeous. Still unconvinced by the battles though, and I don't think I can accurately express just how much I hate the voices. Barratt does indeed appear to sound entirely like a bad Mr T impression.

Hopefully there'll be a Japanese voice pack available for download, or a slider to turn them off entirely.

Best in show.

My experience with FF is about 10 hours with 15 before getting bored. Thought this looked absolutely stunning, I just hope it's accessible for new comers.

Is it me or are they being really unclear with their episodic plans for this?

After watching the presentation I came away thinking they’d scrapped that idea and next year’s release was the full game. But that doesn’t seem to be the case?

Haven't had a chance to watch the latest clips for this, will hopefully get a chance today! I'm still very excited - but are they trying to charge full price for each part of the game now?

Slashing away with a 6 foot sword doing tiny chip damage to power up a special attack seems odd....

I love how the Scorpion gets damaged the longer the fight goes on

Hmm. I don't mind them mixing things like this up, after all the original will always be there to play if I want that experience. But if they are going to change aspects like the battle system it would be nice if they did so in a way that maintained enough of the essence of the original.

And obviously if you are going to replace something make damn sure that the replacement is good!

That reads to me like it's the whole thing, not just a single episode.

Literally the third line:

The first entry in a multi-part saga, delivering a level of depth inconceivable for the original. Mind-blowing story, unforgettable characters, epic battles and technical excellence collide.

They're charging full price because it's a full game. It's one part of a larger story, but it is still a full game.

:slol: I think I'll wait for the whole thing to be released, tbh.

God knows how long that'll take them.
