In an email that may have something to do with their upcoming warehouse and stock alternations due to the Coronavirus, Amazon UK has changed the release date to TBD.

Release date update:

Might start shipping it earlier, or allowing people to purchase a few days early if possible (like GAME has done with Doom)?

I was originally going to order it from Amazon as I had a voucher from work, but I think I might knock this back a little bit now. I've got other things to play and a VR headset to mess with, so I can wait for this to be on a digital sale or something.

I was probably going to go digital for this anyway but I hope they manage to handle the physical release as well as possible despite the disruption.

Would love it if they just release the game early on digital stores. If the damn game has gone gold, then surely the higher street retailers wouldn’t complain much considering the situation?

You'd hope not, but Gamestop have declared themselves as "Essential" in order to stay open, so I can absolutely see them kicking up a stink.

Having decided to pre-order, I got an email from GAME this morning saying that they're going to begin taking payment and processing orders within the next couple of days, though don't get your hopes up too high...

Your order won't reach you early; the email just means it's being held ready to be shipped.

I would cancel the pre order. They might be about to go under.

Can anyone explain to me?

I read that it's not a full game, is it? So how does it work to get the full game? Another release date for the second episode which it means to pay another £40-50 for it or just download the DLC included the price of the first disc? :dread:

They've not said how many parts, but basically each one is going to be a full priced purchase by the look of it.

So if you want to wait for a "complete" package I think you'll be waiting a good few years.

When half life 2 episode 1 came out, I initially didn't buy it because I was going to wait until all 3 episodes were out to play them back to back. That would have worked out well

Cheers.

I think I'll wait for the complete package and by the time it'll be on PS5. :datass:

They ever said there was going to be a 4th at some point! That'd be some wait.

GAME has just shipped mine using Royal Mail 24. They’ve also put this notice on their site:

If you get the game early, please think of others and don’t spoil it for them. Please don’t post videos or screenshots of the game until it is officially on sale on April 10.

Shopto shipped mine yesterday, should get Saturday latest. All preorders started processing yesterday.

Managed to resist playing demo or watch opening sequence trailer. Want to go in totally fresh, get them feels.

Intetested to see where game ends, looks so detailed compared to original can't wait to fawn over every little detail.

Amazon tells me I preordered my copy on 25 August 2015! Not dispatched yet and won't get it until the actual release date. I could cancel but £42 is a good price.
