Aerith is a massive weirdo which I like

Tifa is a bit straight laced, and she has huge anime tits :dread:

Also, Jessie's defining character trait is that she's thirsty

I liked how you can say to Jessie "Are you really that desperate" at one point

strawberry float me the combat has gone from good to middling to absolutely shitehouse. The horrible wank grindy nature of enemies is intolerable.

Not trying to sound like a knob here, but are you sure you're doing it correctly? Are you using ATB skills properly? Are you slotting decent materia? Are you upgrading weapons? Are you utilising weaknesses and stagger? Are you swapping to different characters when needed?

Maybe you should drop to easy.

How far are you in the game? I'm up to Chapter 14 and I couldn't disagree with you more. The combat is an absolute joy and I love it.

What Met said, basically.

See, too old :slol:

In all seriousness though like others have said, make sure you're assessing every enemy and exploiting their weaknesses.

Also, make sure you use the elemental materia to apply whichever element the current enemies are weak to in that area

Generally:

Human/dogs = fire

Robots = lightning

Beasts = ice

Flying enemies = wind

Here's a few extra tips, when enemies are pressured always use character abilities that increase stagger as it will go up massively. Also if you have tifa in your party make sure you charge up her triangle ability twice so you can unleash it when you stagger the enemy, combining that with infinitys end from Cloud will kill most enemies.

Oh also, when you get haste, equip it with amplify and it will allow your whole party to be way more aggressive and damaging as well as heal more often.

Magnify I normally used on heals - unless I was blasting through a replay and then it was whatever element the enemies were week to (e.g. fire on Shinra on the second chapter = fights over before they start)

Really? It's far more beneficial on barrier and haste.

Especially since if enemies are close they will all get hit by the spell anyway without the reduced damage.

Having it on haste basically saves you 2 ATB bars when you cast it and then gains you a bunch more from the buff.

I never found much use for Haste you get enough ATB as it goes. Haste is useful for Stop

You will always take damage in the game (and on hard can't use items) so mana efficient healing is best (normally casting regen early in the fight)

The house is a pain in the arse if you haven't equipped a suitable mix of elemental magic attacks as you really need to take advantage of its weaknesses against those.

I really like that they kept that in as an enemy, when it didn't appear in the normal "random" encounters I was worried they had chickened out of having it!

Manawall halves damage, I feel like that's a bit more important than regaining 50hp a second, especially on hard.

Haste allows you to cast pray and chakra really really easily which uses no MP at all. And haste only costs 4mp.

Haste literally boosts everything you can do and it's super cheap.

Disagree - if you're blocking (with 3* Steadfast Block), you won't be taking that much damage and regen keeps you top up. I *think* Manawall can be breached/dispelled, whiole regen can't.

You don't need haste IMO. It's not an action game it's a rhythm game - you wait for your turn to attack and then unleash fury - and attack/blocking will get you more than ATB than you need (Tifa takes about 3 hits with her speed. And one of Cloud's best moves is just blocking not ATB needed. Punisher  )

It's good if both options appear viable though.

It's a bit annoying as (mostly) before now you've been able to specialise in one or two elements per area, changing as needed.

There's not enough Materia slots to constantly have all your options covered for most of the game - but you don't need it. Until that boss.

On the other hand: DPS is the best mitigation. A dead enemy is unable to hurt you (except those damn Smoggers) and so going in hard and fast is basically free health.

Exactly, and having more ATB commands available can be the difference between killing an enemy from one stagger or having to stagger them again.

Or the difference between having enough ATB to heal or dying

If I've just reached the Battle Intel boy in Chapter 16, roughly how many hours do you think it is until the end of the game? I don't want it to be over yet but I want to keep playing. Unfortunately though, when my wife is working from home, she types on her keyboard so loudly. And I can't be doing with listening to that when there might be emotional gooseberry fool going down on the TV! I think I need to start saving the game now for the couple of hours I get alone first thing in the morning so that I can fully focus on it without distraction.

Honestly, this is the worse thing about lockdown  I've only even played Resident Evil 3 once so far because the tension and atmosphere is instantly killed when you aren't alone.

I may be playing it wrong but strawberry float this game.

This strawberry floating wank fight with Tina and Barrett where you have to slog through a million banana splits and then they become invulnerable and then they main guy jumps in the air and insta kills you.

strawberry float it, I can’t even be arsed to learn what the proper way to beat it is.

Just endless tedious fights and empty back and forth. It’s been a good 15 hours since I was really enjoying this and I think I’m done.
