Rebirth is the next episode in FF7 remake right? What's Renegade? Is that DLC for FF7-can it be bought standalone?

Remake- Part 1 of the FF7 remake
Rebirth- Part 2 of the FF7 remake
Crisis Core- Prequel to the FF7 remake

Did you mean Intergrade? It's DLC which is bundled with the PC release. Not separate.

Cheers. Will Crisis Core be the same gameplay then?

Yeah I meant Integrade. I saw it was on PS5, so I can't just buy it and play it without FF7 by sounds of it.

Crisis Core was a PSP action RPG game from 2007, it's gameplay had some similarities to how FFVII Remake works but it was also very much its own thing. Hard to know how much they've revamped it for this new version

The fact the PS5 version of this doesn't come with the yuffie expansion on the disc is massively puzzling.

I'm guessing the only reason it doesn't is disc space?

Disappointing either way. I literally bought the PS5 version so I could have a hard copy of it.

Which version did you buy?

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade?

So I finished the Yuffie DLC. It was fun but it was way too short. Like I expected a tiny bit of character development or something but, there was literally nothing

Kind of okay about it not being on the disc now. Can't see any reasons to go back to it, especially if Yuffie is playable in the second part.

Fort condor was.prettt fun though
Hopefully they expand upon that in the next game.

I've started playing this again, having picked up the PS5 version on PS Plus (I had the PS4 version for a while through game sharing). Unfortunately my PS4 save file doesn't seem to have been recognised on the PS5, but thankfully I didn't get far through and therefore I don't object too much to starting over from the start.

You just have to upload your PS4 save from the PS4 version first (in game) bit annoying to do but at least it's there.

Sprout, if you can’t be arsed to do that then maybe look and see it the save got uploaded onto the cloud? That might work? Whole thing is a state.

That won't work, I'm sure.

You have to go on Final Fantasy 7 menu on PS4 disc and upload the save file data to their server.

Then once you have a disc of PS5 copy and download the save file from the menu.

Nothing from the PS cloud.

I'm sure of this.

To be fair the first hour of FF7 and the remake is one of the best experiences in gaming, so well worth replaying.

Step 1: Launch the PS4 version of FF7 Remake on either your PS4 or your PS5. For PS5 players, you can switch between the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game by clicking on the game icon on your main PS5 menu, then tapping the ellipses denoted by three dots (...) just to the right of “Play Game.” If you see “PS5 | Full | FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE,” this means that you are already on the PS4 version of the game so all you need to do is go back and tap the “Play Game” icon. If you see is “PS4 | Full | FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE,” click on that to switch to the PS4 version and then click “Play Game.”

Step 2: From the FF7 game menu, click on “Upload Save Data.” Pick the save data you want and voila, you’re good to go. Note that if you have multiple save files, you can’t upload them all in one go. You will need to individually download each file.

Step 3: Exit the game and go to the main PS5 menu. This time, switch to the PS5 version of the game via the (...) icon once again.

Step 4: From the FF7 game menu for the PS5 version, pick “Download Save Data.” Pick the save file you want and continue the download.

A mini guide.

Thanks chaps. It's been a while, so I may benefit from replaying the early parts, but it's nice to know the option is there. Inasusmed that uploading my saves to the cloud on ps4 and downloading on ps5 would be enough!

Unfortunately Sony clearly didn't think that far ahead in regards to save transfers.

Unless a game is always online you basically have to use an in game option. If there isn't one you're screwed, for example Control, aliens fire team etc

Reading over the thread, I agree with Buffalo. I've knocked this down to easy just to blow through it. The pacing/padding is just not good. It doesn't do a very good job of presenting the new stuff and making it compelling enough. Sticking two fingers up at fans is okay if you can make the changes worthwhile. I don't think they've done that so far.

It looks great and sometimes sounds great. I'm at the train graveyard which I think is over halfway.

I’m only a couple of chapters ahead of you.

The game really doesn’t know what it is. It feels more like a Final Fantasy VII skin of a Yakuza game. It feels nothing like a Final Fantasy to me, where as Final Fantasy XVI for me nailed feeling like a Final Fantasy.

The combat in this is really not great either, hopefully Rebirth will be more like XVI in terms of combat and hopefully they’ll get the pacing right.

FF7 is one of my fav games of all time but I bounced off the remake. Even free on PS+ I got to hell house boss and lost interest. Nothing had gripped me enough to keep playing so I never even got to all the timeline changing nonsense that would have pissed me off.

The combat in Remake is so much better than XVI though.

I totally agree. The combat in XVI got very repetitive very fast and ultimately just became a button mashing exercise.
