It pays off to level up as much as you can, literally all of your skills carry over into ME3, it's pretty fun to start with half of them upgraded and then be able to max them out by the end game :D

I really wish the gun upgrades would carry over between characters, it's such a massive chore to have to upgrade them all. Having to start from scratch every single time you want to try out a new class is a massive bummer.

Took some more pics anyway

Jesus I forgot what a leap ME2 to 3 was.

Feels like the last game was running in treacle now compared to this greased lightening

It's both annoying and stupid that Photo Mode defaults to the Depth of Field being enabled.

I was so glad 3 didn't have the stupid camera shake when you sprint.

Only thing that bothers me about this collection really is the lack of rebindable controls on console.

There's not even any control sets to swap to. You HAVE to have sprint on X and have the stick buttons be not used for anything. Why?

Just makes me laugh in a world with LOU2 accessibility options they couldn't even be bothered to have some different control schemes.

So in ME3 is there a "good" time to Omega and Leviathan? I'm assuming Citadel you do pretty much last (never done any of the DLC)

Annoyingly the pyromaniac trophy doesn't seem to work off squad powers - but the overload one does

Some minor spoilers:

I don't think it matters too much for the others but Citadel should definitely be the very final thing you do before the endgame.

I've always said Citadel is best played after the ending and treated as a kind of Christmas special. It's designed to be the last you see of these characters.

It's definitely got a very different tone to the rest of the game, it's nice and uplifting through.

I was surprised at how naff the leviathan DLC was

Never played it before but I'd heard it get hyped up, it just felt like a regular side mission with some massive exposition at the end.

Speaking of which I can't believe the kind of DLC EA made people pay for. Finding out about the Protheans and Leviathans in DLC just comes across as really scummy to me. They're really important pieces of lore that were sold separately.

The prothean DLC was especially bad since it was launch day. I really hope they don't do that kind of DLC again for the next game.

Werent that (and Zaeed from ME2) included in every copy though?

They were trying to hamper the 2nd hand market by having single use DLC codes in the box. So you could buy a 2nd hand copy, but if you wanted the full package you’d have to give EA at least a little money?

I think it was a widespread approach at the time

Correctamundo. ME3’s MP needed a 1-time unlock code too. They tried it with Dead Space 2 and - I think - 3, an online MP ‘pass’. Shame nobody cared about it :shifty:

I remember that it was impossible to get the best single player ending in ME3 at launch without playing the multiplayer as well since you had to get a certain multiplayer score to push the War Readiness over the threshold for the highest readiness, it was impossible to get the highest rating solo/offline. It was the only time I ever had Gold in the 360 era.

Nah, the Javik DLC was only included if you bought the collectors edition, otherwise it was like an extra tenner on day one.

The choice between space racist and Kaidan was always difficult for me. Both are awful.

I bought that edition too and still thought it was shitty.

Plus there's a big difference between Zaeed and Javik. One is a random merc, the other is heavily intertwined with the main plot of the game

Kaiden gets some lovely depth in ME3 and I really liked his romance with mShep.

And Citadel done.

That was lovely - I'm vaguely tempted to go again with different characters/choices, but then I remember there's Youtube

Well there's a lovely hit to the feels of seeing all this characters again (for the "last" time - it's also the last "new" content for me) there's also a sour note of knowing the end that's about to come.

I've done the base now I forget how jarring it is  (Massive spoilers for new players. Don't open)

Oh the Citadel's super super important. The Illusive Man has told them.

Oh the Reapers have taken it killing everyone on board that you know and helped, including fight off another takeover

Oh the Reapers have moved it (it moves now) to Earth

They did this without anyone sounding an alarm to anyone

It's just so...sudden and narratively incongruous)
