Again, I think that's probably on your end. The writing is uniformly excellent. I mean, there's a reason it's one of the biggest franchises in gaming. And it's not the combat.

Did you only play the first game?

I can understand what he means though. A lot of the companion dialogue in the first game.isnt particularly interesting, a lot of it just exposition about the different races.

Like the only thing I knew about Tali from the first game other than Quarian history is that she likes the engine being loud so she can sleep better

2 is pretty radically different from 1, you might like it.

It's way more character focused rather than politics focused like the first game.

Yeah it's been on my "I'll play this eventually" list of a while.

I'm 90% certain I own 2 on Steam so I may get round to it one day!

The first Mass Effect was released the exact same day as Skunk Anansie's album Stoosh, the first track of which was Yes It's strawberry floating Political. Coincidence?

First game done and platinum.

You do everything and you still can't hit level 30 :D Except the minerals as  I ended up missing 1 heavy light metal :()

But due to the higher level my rewards were silly :D I'm 09999999 credits, full gel and stuff. First time I've ever bought the Spectre weapons. Jesus they wreck. :datass:

Eh? I was Level 55 when I completed the game?

You can do "Legendary" leveling in the first game that converts it 1-30

Only in the prologue of ME2 but I’d forgot how much better the combat was

Oh yeah I remember that but I just left it as it is.

The gunplay is so improved in Mass Effect 2, but the longer I play it, I realised it’s too bloated. Too much focus on the combat system. Too many characters. Struggling to get into it like I did for the first one.

The planet scanning is no patch on the Mako exploration.

Just finished Mass Effect 1 and getting ready to move on to Mass Effect 2.

Am I right in remembering that if you romance Ashley in ME1, then romance someone in ME2, the option to romance Ashley in ME3 is locked out when you carry your save through?

Didn’t think so

In ME2 can you not hide your helmet? You can have no equipped but then you miss out on bonuses

I get what you mean I love the character depth but having essentially 2 dedicated missions for each character does bloat the game a bit. Especially along with all the DLC.

I quite like the scanning though, when you get a high spike :datass:

2 is definitely the high water mark of the series.

Dude I forgot how drastic the jump is between each game.

The production values on 3 are so good compared to 2.

Not to mention the combat is insanely fun. Lighting people on fire then charging them to make it explode never gets old.

Having said that, having zero weight and continuously charging enemies to regen your shield is really broken

ME2 done with all alive :)

Such a good pay off for your journey.

Trying to be Jacks friend somehow became romancing - turned her down and now she just yells ‘strawberry float off’ if I go near. Oops

LotSB and Arrival left to do

I have Firewalker to do but I remember it being crap and it’s not in the achievements which suggest Bioware know this.
