Can you summarise for me? Mass Effect 1 and 2 is one of my fave gaming experiences ever but I fell off 3 because I heard the ending was gooseberry fool.

Again, for clarity, no one expected 50 tailor made endings, but the ending doesn’t make any sense. Like, the whole point of the trilogy is to defeat the Reapers, and if IIRC the three options are basically ‘blow up all technology’ (which sort of defeats the Reapers by proxy, I guess? Does it also kill legion? Or jack? Or shepherd? The characters who are at least partly synthetic? strawberry float you, and strawberry float you for asking). There’s the one where you... bond with technology? What does that mean? Again, strawberry float you and strawberry float you for asking. Or you control the Reapers by...inserting yourself into their AI maybe? Again, what THE strawberry float does that mean?

It’s a strawberry floating mess. Anyone who liked it didn’t know what the story was to begin with, and ‘defeat the murder robots’ wasn’t exactly a complicated premise to begin with.

As a side note, if you choose to ignore all 3, then the screen fades to black, to the credits. That happened to me the other week, no gooseberry fool.

A blessing in disguise

I've wanted to replay these for a while so I'd be up for a remaster. I tried to get into Andromeda but that was a big mistake.

Multiplayer in 3 was a good horde mode.

Never managed to get through more than a handful of hours in the first game, found the writing to be dire and just couldn't muster the will to give a strawberry float about what anyone was saying or doing.

It's been in my list of "games to give another go" list for ages but I just can't see me finding the time, a remaster might help bring it back into contention I guess.

I wonder if they will go back to the first game and revamp the combat to match the other 2? The first game was the only one I ever tried but I remember not being a fan of the combat and ended up dropping the game

A Brit has reported to reddit that he has preordered the N7 Mass Effect Trilogy remaster for PS4 from GAME! Receipt shows a 30th October (Friday) release date.

It was the other way round for me Loved the first game, but didn't get on with the second at all.

I could be interested if everything is on the cart and there's no 2K-esque "cost-saving measures".

I assume there's a PC version as well but just digital only.

Wonder if it will be included in EA Play Pro on PC since then I won't need to pay extra.

Though a Switch version would be sorely tempting as well.

The Switch version would be very tempting if it was all on the cartridge, I can see that not being the case though sadly.

If you’re going to play a remaster on switch, you may as well just play the original and not get butt-fucked by Nintendo’s hilarious tax that 99% of you suck up and ask for more.

Wish they'd just announce this already, it seems every other day there's rumours or leaks of this coming.
