Loving this all over again. Went onto ME2 straight after completing ME even though I'm usually not one for binging on a series of games like that. (I always tell people playing Yakuza for the first time not to do that )

Just did the Horizon colony mission and I could not have had a worse set up for the mini bosses Scion fight and their armour HP  :fp: Must have died, like, 10 times ffs. Thank god you can cheese one of them with a sniper from the entrance.

Only true Mass Effect aficionados know why part of the ship name is covered up like that.

What’s the reason?
Notice you’re rocking the arc projector…you’ll have just picked up the particle beam though yeah? It’s the mack, feeling like some sort of intergalactic ghostbuster.

You see the name being covered when the Normandy is attacked at the start. That bit opens/slides up and the escape pods fire out. (I only noticed thanks to restarting ME2 LE. On my first one I thought the graphics on busted ship were clipping or something :slol:)

Yeah. Beam made Horizon a lot easier than it otherwise would have been. Really glad I didn't just walk past it. (Which is what I am pretty sure I may well have done on my *original* playthrough as I have no recollection of that weapon :fp:)

How are you finding 3?

I prefer the way Shepherd moves in combat in 2, which surprised me as I was really big on ME3’s MP - in ME3 his/her base movement speed is significantly slower but can sprint a LOT faster.
As for the game in general…weeeell, the cast is just rubbish isn’t it? Kaiden? James? Javik? Crap. It also throws far too many side missions at you, which are only picked up when you overhear conversations - whoever thought that was good needs firing out of a cannon.

Currently on what I think is the final leg of the Liara mission in ME2. The pacing of it is so good once the action kicks off.

I don't much like the cast in 2, either. Kaiden is back in ME3? Balls. I'd still pick him over Ashley, but they're all lacking in charisma or character. The most character I've seen Shepard have is during the chase mission with Liara. But even during that both the lines and how they're delivered were really lacking punch.

How is this possible?

Because all the ones I have up to now are either without character, stoic, mopy or psychos. (And as I said before, VA performance/piss poor writing doesn't help.) Not attractive traits in the least. Only Jack and Mordin are of interest to me out of this lot. Hopefully the assassin and justicar will be more interesting. Not holding my breath, though.

They are, very much so. I’d disagree with you strongly about the writing, but the delivery?…perhaps. Maybe. For some of them. Just don’t hate on the mighty Martin Sheen.

How can you actively dislike someone like Garrus? Are you kidding me? ;)

Apologies. I meant the squad, not the whole cast.

I’m still not having it.
I think Carrie-Anne Moss hasn’t come back for ME3, the voice for Aria sounds quite different.
Did the ME3 DLC’s and they’re surprisingly long - Omega in particular went on for AGES. Definitely play it if you want exclusive powers, mods, enemies & squad members. It’s very, very brown though. Leviathan too, was pretty good - the bonus power you get from that is hopefully going to be good too.

Yeah. No doubt I'm in the minority on those opinions. (I thought Guardians of the Galaxy game had pish writing and dialogue, whereas everyone else thought it was fine/great.) But I stand by them.

I have a terrible memory when it comes to stories in games / films / soaps etc. Seriously, I'm wondering / interested in if it's a condition. My memory is excellent otherwise though.

When starting ME2 will I get any sort of "previously on....." which will show not only story beats, but also key decisions I made?

I feel that the choice driven consequence aspect of the games are slightly wasted on me if I cant remember I made a direct choice that resulted in the event being played out!

My memory is excellent otherwise though.

You can actually change your mind about past events, but I’m not sure if there’s a ‘previously on’ video or anything.

Ah right, cheers.

You can change previous events when porting your save? That's interesting. If I see the choices in question it might be enough to get the synapses firing again.

Have you played ME 2 before?

No, just ME1 from the LE about 6 months ago and ME3 on Wii U about 5 years ago (I know, I'm a terrible person).
