She’s thoroughly unlikeable at first but when she opens up about her family I had a lot more sympathy for her. Decent squad mate too.

I used to hate Miranda but once you understand her character arc I genuinely think she's really cool.

You don't get many no nonsense female characters like her.

I really need to get around to doing a full Renegade run through the trilogy.

I only ever managed a Renegade run through ME1 back on the 360, and even that was only once.

FFS. First the game crashes on final mission, and then Samara gets whisked away by the bugs. Gonna have to restart it. What a jip. I won't be completing it if it happens again. (I don't mind losing a member of the squad, but Samara is a favourite. No way I'm letting her get taken.)

Well done.

Mordin copped it on mine. Deserved considering the genophage.

Did you have his loyalty? How did he die?

Yeah. I had a fully loyal squad. He died off-screen; he was with the other group before the boss fight.

Died off screen? Is that a thing?! Just…how?

After the biotic shield bit, Shepard asks the remaining group to hold off the collectors who are about to barge through a door. That's the group I left him in. During the escape from the collector ship, after the boss fight, a cutscene played showing collector feet stomping their way to stop Sheppard and co. There on the ground, as the legs and feet stomped by, lay Mordin. Dead.

Oh. Wait. One more thing: how strawberry floating pish was that reaper revelation  strawberry floating hell. "Guys. They've seen a Reaper before. How we gonna spice this revelation up?" Solution: bargain basement boss reveal. That's another section the game is lacking in compared to the first: the invader and complying antagonist aren't anywhere near as good as Sovereign and Saren.

Yeah the last boss is a bit gooseberry fool.

But from my point of view Mass Effect 2 is all about the characters.

It has the best squad mate selection and most interesting missions in the series in my opinion.

That's why the story is kind of a B plot, because it's not really the focus, it's just an excuse to get all these cool characters together.

That’s crazy! Maybe it depends on who you chose as squad leader? Maybe. I know there’s a ridiculously detailed flow chart out there that breaks the suicide mission down, gonna have to pour over it and see what you did.

I wish these game had a ticking clock, as it were. You know, something to make you think twice about whether or not to help crew mates with their problems for fear of time spent on them making the Reaper situation worse.

There’s 1 timer of sorts in ME2. Did your ship crew survive - Kelly, the doc etc?

Oof. Mordin has one of the best scenes in ME3 too.

I'd have restarted whole game if Dr. Chakwas❤️ hadn't survived.

Is it related to the genophage?

Yeah. It’s arguably the games best bit. Would love to know how differently it plays out without Mordin in the game.

It’s the beauty of the beast, man. All of these different variables. Love it.
Kinda sad my time in space is over tbh :(
