One was really good for its time (not sure how it's aged) and 2 was one of the best games from last gen and one of the best WRPGs I've ever played, 3 was worse than 2 and the ending actively ignored big choices you made in the previous games that were meant to be pivotal.

I'd buy it again to play 1 and 2.

Awesome, ta.

Assuming that, you know, this is actually happening. :shifty:

If it is a straight remaster with no improvements on the combat system, you will find the original too clunky. But the story is superb.

I remember reading a novel that’s a prequel to Mass Effect, and it was alright but it does explain how the events happens around the main villain in the first game.

I've still not got around to playing a Mass Effect game even though I have the trilogy. Probably gonna connect up my PS3 again at some point to give them a go.

I've never played any of them but would like to. 3 games is a hell of a commitment though.

I have the impression that - generally - the verdict is:

Mass Effect - Aged, a little clunky but still decent
Mass Effect 2 - Very good
Mass Effect 3 - Decent but with a duff ending

When I get around to it, I'll start with the first one just to see and experience the changes through the trilogy.

Mass Effect 3 is a good game until the end. The story and quests are good fun. The end shouldn’t put you off playing the game.

Also it builds on the relationships with your squad over the last two games.

I enjoyed all 3 of them but 2 was deffiinetly the high point as it started strong and built to a great finish, 3 feels like there are amazing parts and set pieces but it's just not as solid overall, I still have a sealed copy of 3 for the Wii U I never got round to playing

Unless expectations are carefully managed, I feel like simple remasters could actually be more damaging to the legacy of the series than the shot in the arm EA would hope for. I only played the first ME when it released on PS3 for example, and even around 2013 (6 years after its initial release) the mechanics of the game felt desperately clunky and tired.

I’ve not played them apart from a little bit of the first one which I stopped as I didn’t enjoy the mechanics. If they have changed them I would like to give this another go.

I would much rather they make small planet generator that puts together some small No Man's Sky style play areas that capture the remote feel of the first Mass Effect's worlds.

On paper I'd love to see an upgraded trilogy; I've not played the originals and I'd like to do so. A wee concern, though, is that I suspect they would be very basic updates - ports bumped up to 1080p - rather than remakes, mainly because EA tend to take this approach (as with the upcoming Need for Speed Hot Pursuit) and the fact that the games are pretty large.

Would like to see some good news arriving today, though!
