Their remasters seem to be some of the laziest gooseberry fool I’ve ever seen. I played the 2 Paradise games one after the other on my Xbone, the first via BC and the latter in actual 4K...I wasn’t seeing much difference at all. Apparently this new Hot Pursuit is just the original PC version!

Does it have a new ending?

Yes I am still bitter, and will die on this hill. I’m not paying £50 to be angry in 4K.

It's ok, you won't have to pay £50 to be angry in 4K.

It'll be at least £60.

Hope the new game is a proper sequel that shows us the state of the Galaxy after ME3, rather than some kind of prequel or side story.

They could literally just do what Andromeda did. Put it in another galaxy, but actually make it, y'know, good and deliver on the potential.

I think that they need to acknowledge the utter disaster that was the final section of ME3, and remake it completely.

I don't think the series can really move on until that travesty is addressed head-on.

Mass effect one was clunky from the offset. In my head it was always the (disappointing) unofficial conceptual sequel to KOTOR.
ME2 was great. Really good characterisation and solid game play and a great final mission.
ME3 was pretty solid, more of the same for the first 95%, but the final mission and the ending where as flakey as hell.

Im disappointed the multiplayer isnt back. Id have liked for my progress to carry into the remaster. It was loot box/micro transaction/PTW heavy - although you could still grind it with the ingame currency. This is probably the reason why the multiplayer isnt making it. Although the financial model allowed for some really good support with free DLC for a good period of time. At the end of the day ME3 multiplayer was one of the best horde games ive played.

I've yet to play the game, but didn't EA issue free downloads of alternative endings? I think I download 'em onto my 360 in anticipation of playing!

Edit: Yeah, they did!

It's like they took a gooseberry fool on pristine white carpet, then smeared it into the carpet in a ham-fisted attempt to clean it up. There's always going to be a big brown stain there, taunting us, spoiling everything, until a real cleaner is brought in to replace it.

They expounded on their "ending," adding a sort of cut scene at the end with some expository dialogue relating to whatever color thingy you got, maybe a section where you can have one last talk with your teammates, but beyond that, it's just... not good.

Andromeda ended with a sequel in mind didn't it?

Given the performance of Andromeda I can't imagine that's a thread they'll follow, at least not yet. Maybe eventually a game that ties Andromeda and the Mainline back together or something with teams from the Milky Way arriving with much more advanced technology, or at least establishing contact with the Andromeda Initiative.

You may know this, but I redownloaded ME2&3 to play during the last lockdown, only to find that all of my ME3 MP progress was still saved somehow. I’d not played it on the Xbone until that point. I was buzzing! Mad guns, all of the character classes, the lot. And a busy lobby! Crazy. Maybe it’s all saved on their side.

On alot of the horde games with cards/ progress /levelling the weapons/characters etc are saved server side. Its what happens in Gears of war and Star wars battlefront 2 i believe. Its a case of keeping the servers switched on / money paying player base happy. Its good to hear that ME3 multiplayer is still going. Andromeda multiplayer felt off compared to ME3, a little choppy, flakey, and a lack of precision.
