I love me some God of War but can't believe they chose Norse mythology. It looks interesting but in no way has the iconic characters or settings of the Greek pantheon. Egypt would have been much better.

I was hoping with a new setting and character(s) we'd get a different GoW; deeper combat, new world based gameplay mechanics and a less try hard, edgy MC.

Oh well.

You're probably aware their canned game was a space game/space shooter which was cancelled because Destiny. It may have been generic as strawberry float but at least it would have been something different.

I was sick of anticipating new IP announcements but only getting sequels to gooseberry fool games on XB, I won't go through that again on PS. So if it turns out Bend are working on a new SyphonFilter, SuckerPunch on yet another Infamous and Naughty Dog move on to Jak and Daxter, then I'll be putting my PS4 away.

Norse mythology is pretty badass (dat Bifrost), but this could end up as another Viking: Battle for Asgard.

Jaffe originally said that the series would be more like Zelda in that there would be a character that would be a legend of myth, much like Link.

This Kratos may well not be the Kratos from the Greek mythology, which also makes sense given the events at the end of GOW3.

I'd imagine that after hope is restored to humanity, the gods from Asgard have started acting up, which then brings forth a Kratos, a former Asgardian warrior to take on the might of the gods and restore hope to humanity once more ( reluctantly of course, because he'll just be happy to kill them all for revenge ).

Yeah, some people would love 'em and I'm cool with that. I want fresh new IPs, though. (Or sequels to games *I* like. ;>)

Bend's game was rumoured to be some kind of horror shooter.

As much as I love my smaller games, I have a anticipation for the larger, AAA projects very few of the smaller games anouncements can match. If ND, SP and Bend are working on the games I mentioned then I'll be hugely disappointed. I'll definitely still play some of the games already announced (Detroit, Dreams, Wild, etc) but I want to see new things from the established devs. That or TLoU 2. :slol:

I feel the same way about Bloodborne II, btw. If From are gonna do a PS4 exclusive (ditto their next multiplat game, though) I want them to do something completely new and not another Souls games.

I love GOW and Kratos. If Kratos isn't in it, it isn't GOW as far as I'm concerned.

Because he was tricked into killing his family? That is his reason for being. The only bitches in GOW are the enemies he encounters and makes into his bitches. :datass:

I'm not saying he doesn't have a good reason, just that we've now had 3+ games of it and it got old way, way before the last game hit. That's why I want a change from Kratos. Give us someone who has still done questionable things (because that's what SSM wants - a playable antihero) but don't make him so annoying. Also, Kratos' anger ain't gooseberry fool compared to this strawberry floater :arrow:

Thankfully/unfortunately we only had one game of it and so I've not tired of him.

See that? He was so angry he went from 0 arms to 6 arms! And he was made of angry fire.

I would love a sequel to Asuras Wrath, bat gooseberry fool crazy!
