Saying it's not so great with a crap team is putting it mildly.
It's like trying to play a game of football with everyone being determined to always have the ball and have zero intention of sticking to a position. That team would struggle to win unless it's a team of Ronaldo's up against a pub side.

I'm leveling up my new Tommy gun for medic now (it's the level 20 weapon) which is only the 4th or so weapon I've bothered using.
I also have 2 maxed out British Tanks :D .

The Thompson SMG for the medic is a beast even at base but is awesome when maxed.

Ok, so after the herculean 15gb patch installed I managed to join a random game.

Just as predicted, I'm terrible!
It seems even easier to be killed by a 3 pixel tall person from 1 mile away than Battlefield 1!

I was very tired though, and only having a quick shot, so I'll try again later.
Meet up later pete?

:D Yep.

It does get easier and there are maps where the visibility of people is quite poor indeed.
The snowy maps are the worst offenders for me.

I want to play the medic but I'm finding them just unplayable considering they are limited to close range weapons and the size of the maps.

I think I'm going to stick with the support/engineer

They have some decent long range guns and can still help the team

While I love the medic I know exactly what you mean. I suppose I'm slightly odd in that I rarely expect to win gunfights any so it's not that bad for me when I get completely destroyed by people from range as long as I can win now and then close in I'm happy.
I can get near the top of the leaderboards (I've topped a few) through revives and heals even when I have almost no kills but I understand that may not be everyone's cup of tea play style.

As always if you see me on feel free to fire me an invite and I'll pop on and be your medic and we can maybe find 2 people who don't run away from us like we have some kind of infectious disease.

Seriously, the sheer number of people who play this game and insist on not being near any team member is just insane. They will spawn on a team member and just instantly run away from them it's quite amazing to watch.

I'm considering trading this in.

When I get killed because of bad aim, fair enough.

But most of the time I die it's from being shot from some guy proned in a corner, or proned 200 meters away with a rifle.

I think the main problem with this game is enemy identification. The marking is terrible when it really shouldn't be, just gives a massive advantage to full squads with mics. Not only that but for some reason enemy soldiers don't make foot steps, or any kind of movement noise.

Both these things combined just means you have so little information about enemy positioning that the best tactic is often to just hide in a corner instead of seek them out.

For me the main problem is the simple lack of people actually bothering to play as part of a team. I'd be shock if as many as 1 in 10 squads I join have even 2 people who stick together for more than a few seconds at a time even in game types that try and force teamwork.
The lack of even basic communication with them is also infuriating as they completely ignore objectives and following people to be a medic when they run constantly and give zero indication of where they're going just induces rage. I'll lose sight of them for a split second and they disappear.

While I won't be trading it in as I never trade in games I'm thinking I may only play if someone is going to group up with me as I'm losing all hope that randoms will be anything other than 99% maddening frustration. I really like this game when it works well it's just it requires teamwork and most of the players don't bother.

I hope they do something about player visibility as at the moment on the snow maps I find it incredibly difficult to see people. I had one guy shooting at me while playing with Fade who despite downing me multiple times (with Fade reviving me) I just could not see him at all despite looking intently in the direction of the gunfire and he was just on the top of a small hill in front of me.

I've only managed to get a V2 to work once and that was at the base spawn and choosing a random field.
I just can't get the binoculars to activate and as nobody communicates in this game it's impossible to get help.

I think you need to be the leader of squad and for your squad to get 45k.

Then, you hold down LB & RB at once (L1 & R2 on PS4?) push up on right stick and release LB and RB while still holding up, It's quite tricky tbh, took me 4 goes to call in one in vid above:

I like the fact that it doesn't explain that at all. All it does is say press R1 and L1 and then nothing.

Thanks for letting me know as most of the time I have enough points to get a V2 and am squad leader I just panic and try just pressing every button :slol: .
I didn't get the week 2 hat as the squad V2 kills didn't count for me and I couldn't call in a V2.

I think I'll keep hold of it and just play with groups like you said Pete.

Unless they add some kind of mechanic or change the sound design so you can actually tell where people are (you know like strawberry floating footsteps at least) then it's not particularly fun to play on your own.

I guess I'll just be a medic when I play solo and try and Res as many people as possible instead of worrying about kills.

The Battlefield V Deluxe Edition on Xbox is £23.79 @ CDKeys

https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/games/ ... one-cd-key

I think they still do the facebook code for another 5% off on top.

Nuts! I really want to get it now but I really don't have the time to play it :(

Very tempted to get it... but know that I don't need it, barely have time for RDR2 and FIFA 19 at the moment.

Pretty sure I'll be terrible at online, I sure was in the last battlefield. Is the single player good?
