Can we add a poll just to see how many here are planning to get this?
I have a feeling it isn't many.

It seems that games utilising the additional tech of the new PS5 Pro system will have a "PS5 Pro Enhanced" label applied, both in the PlayStation Store product pages and on game cases.

My mind wandered back into thinking about a PS5 Pro. I wonder if such a model will arrive this year? It seems that folk generally feel that it's not really needed... but maybe it would sell well should it arrive?

Guessing price will be a major factor in if people pick one up, I can't see it being much less than £600. My issue is they have only just begun to really make use of the current PS5's power/features so it seems too soon to release a Pro (Although I do realise we are technically halfway through the lifespan of PS5)

The thing which I want to know, is how big will this thing be? I've never owned a Pro console, but aI think they tend to be bigger than the launch versions of the same console. Bigger than the launch PS5? :o

I'm only interested if it has wheels on it, so that it doubles up as a campervan. I'll dress up as Astrobot and have some crazy adventures!

The silly neighbourhood vegetable.

Yeah, with the standard model being £480 I think that, unfortunately, the minimum for the Pro could be £600.

That is truth, Milner... but a crazy truth! It sure doesn't feel like it!

It could well be a whopper, Sprouty!

I feel that GR is so ready to see you go out on Astro adventures in a campervan  .

Is anyone even slightly tempted by this?
I'm normally the first to shout about new consoles but the PS5 Pro just seems utterly pointless at a time when we have almost no games that take full advantage of the PS5 yet.

Not even the slightest bit of interest, no. You're right, it's utterly pointless.

The PS4 Pro at least had the benefit of running games better at a fancy pants HD resolution, I just can't see obvious benefits of the PS5 Pro.

They really are going to struggle to market the Pro as it seems like such a small upgrade.

Unless there’s some surprises we don’t yet know about, better off saving your money for the PS6 or rumoured Portable.

I can see few benefits in a PS5 Pro at the moment. But the PS4 Pro is my all-time favourite console and I just know that I'd really want to get a PS5 Pro. "Want" and actually laying down the cash is a big step, though.

I'm going to keep an eye on it out of curiosity for the tech but the chances of me buying it are zero.

I'm surprised this hasn't been quietly cancelled yet, as KK said, people may as well buy the rumoured portable PS console instead of the Pro, as that may have something a little different going for it rather than what sounds like a small update from people in the know.

I do agree it'll be at least interesting to see the inevitable comparison videos between PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X.

I don’t even use my ps5 anymore. Every few weeks I’ll boot it up and browse the store. Never see anything I want to play or if I do it’s vastly overpriced. Then I go back to playing older games on my steam deck or PC. I truly think PS5 is both one of the best consoles ever but also this is one of the worst console generations ever, the fact we are halfway through with no really generation defining games yet and Sony has nothing lined up either. The joke “has no games” is worryingly accurate this far into the generation.

Maybe they'll fix their shoddy controllers for the Pro?

This is exactly what I have been doing, literally just play on Switch or Steam Deck these days playing older generation stuff, Nintendo games or indies. Up to PS4, Sony had some great line ups of games but this new generation hasn’t ever felt like its took off.

Metro GameCentral wrote:Insider Tom Henderson has a solid track record as a leaker, but particularly when it comes to Sony hardware, as he was the first to reveal information on the PlayStation Portal. Hmmn. Okay.

I'm taking over from these folks with "insider knowledge" and my first tip is:

Sony are developing a new console and they're going to release it at some point; probably by 2028. And - get this! - it will have more technical power than the PS5.

Keep folowing me here in GR for more hot news.

I'm telling you, if the upgrades are still happening, both Sony and Microsoft are going to launch their upgrades the exact same day as the Switch 2, so when they don't sell they can use that as an excuse
