Because playing 2 player games isn't a regular occurrence, so the batteries between both will be out of sync as I dont rotate them off the switch.

Do they run down when not in use then? I thought the battery life was supposed to be huge, but fair enough

Ah.

I am less worried about a lower-price model splitting the market, just because Nintendo has traditionally been so good at local multiplayer, and because the Switch has nailed that to such an extent so far. I can’t see a remodel changing that as much as I can see it changing, say, the baseline level of power/porting compression that developers are willing to work with.

Bit off tangent.. but if anyone is upgrading their switch to a Switch Pro+ X, can you consider selling me your old switch if it's in good nick please :)

I've been trying to play my Switch here on holiday in the sun and it's impossible to see the screen.

My Galaxy S8 looks just fine in full brightness.

At this point releasing a new handheld without an OLED should be considered a crime.
