Ehhh. Not for me, these.

I've never really felt I wanted the Switch to have more power, in all honesty. Just hoping standard model owners don't miss out on anything. Like with the PS4 Pro: I've managed to never really notice that it exists and it hasn't impacted my gaming in any way.

+1. Nothing else to contribute really, apart from pointing a cautionary finger at the New 3DS and its New 3DS-exclusive games.

Yeah, that's what concerns me. I nearly typed out 'surely Nintendo wouldn't...' in my above post, but then remembered they really would. :|

What are the chances that new hardware means no more joy-con stick drift issues?

It's happening to my girlfriend's joy-cons now too, which means that both joy-cons on both switches have basically broken. The odds seem frighteningly high, so I'm just waiting for my replacement pair to break now.

The new gaming consoles will be released as early as this summer

Nintendo plans to launch two new versions of its Switch gaming console as early as this summer, people familiar with the matter said, as the company seeks to sustain sales momentum for the product going into a crucial third year.

One version will have enhanced features targeted at avid videogamers, although it won’t be as powerful as Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 4 Pro or Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One X, according to parts suppliers and software developers for Nintendo who have access to a prototype of the machine.

The other version is a cheaper option for casual gamers that Nintendo sees as a successor to its aging hand-held 3DS device, the suppliers and developers say.

The new models are likely to be unveiled at the E3 videogame Expo in Los Angeles in June and possibly released a few months later, one person familiar with Nintendo’s plans said. Kyoto-based Nintendo declined to comment.

Not sure she’ll accept a Switch when you buy a house.

If a mini version has fixed joycons, you can guarantee it'll have a fantastic and exclusive dpad :x

I think the one selling point for the mini for me would be seamless account/save game integration. Not sure if that can/would work.

Intrigued to see what form the lower spec model takes. If it's not a massive downgrade, and the price is right, I'd be tempted. Or better yet, the normal version gets a price cut, but this is Nintendo.

I'd be interested in a Switch Pro if it means docked performance in handheld mode. Any other improvements would just be a bonus.

I'm more or less sold on whatever the Switch Pro will be at this point. Give me a better screen and battery life and I'm there day one >,>

They could probably get the size of the thing down quite a bit just by reducing the huge bezel sizes.

Likely the Switch Pro will be the same size for Joycon connetibility, hopefully the screen will fill more of the front though.

As for the mini, whole unit should be the same size as the original tablet, slightly smaller screen obviously.
If it's a clamshell though I'm not sure how they will get the USB to stay dead centre for dock compatibility.
