I bought one this afternoon. I will give a review once I've eaten, maybe a second one once it's passed.

Finished mine. Probably just as hot as the Vindaloo I had at a Curry House a few years ago and definitely the hottest supermarket curry I've had. It probably didn't help that it was a meal for two and I ate it all myself without a drink to go with it. Now to see what tomorrow brings.

Just finished it, here's some pictures:

It tasted OK, most Supermarket Curries taste the same anyway. It had am indian curry taste but lacks the authentic taste you get with Takeaway and home made ones. The meat was the same bog standard meat which they throw into the sauce separately. Heat wise it has some instant heat which compounds as you eat it. It isn't overly hot, I've had hotter madrases and hotter vindaloos, it's pretty spicy though. I was satisfied with the level of heat.

Good work chap. Looks nice enough to give it a try. You need to score it out of ten though to consider yourself a proper reviewer :) EVRYTHING needs a mark out of ten :)

As a supermarket curry 8.5/10. As a curry 6/10.

Chicken Tikka Masala by Sainsbury's new recipe is a result of testing and refinement by our specialist chefs. To make our Chicken Tikka Masala the best it could be, we sent a team out to buy similar dishes from takeaways from all over the UK. Then, once we'd asked an independent panel of taste-testers to compare them against ours and give us their feedback, we refined our Chicken Tikka Masala until ours tasted just right.

Chicken Tikka Masala has become one of Britain's favourite dishes. Sainsbury's is made with an exclusive mix of ingredients and spices you won't find anywhere else. We marinate British chicken with yogurt and spices and cook it in a flame grilled oven. We use both cashew nut purée and onion purée to thicken our curry sauce and give it a rich and sweet flavour. Half fat cream instead of single cream cuts down on the calories in the dish without losing any of the flavour. Then we add a little bit of honey to deliver a brilliantly rounded flavour.

If they've managed to match the curry house I'll be AMAZED. It'll be fantastic if they have though, or at least come close to it.

Tikka Masala isn't curry. It's chicken in cream.

People who think curry has to be unpalatably hot don't know curry. It seems to be a curiously British thing. Like some pathetic test of masculinity or something.

This, I like curry but I don't like having my face burned off.

That's something pussies say

I agree, there becomes a stage where the dish gets to hot all you taste is burning. I actually don't see what all the fuss is with Vindaloo! there are far nicer curries!
