My flatmate and I see them every year. I'm not a massive fan or anything, but it's practically a tradition now.

So, how are they shoehorning Jigsaw into it this year?

There was only one good bit about the last one and that was the song I.V.

Surely it should've stopped at III?

Aside from the first one they are all crap, but I love them and will no doubt watch number 5 when it comes out on DVD.

The first one was a decent original horror film. The second was (just) bearable, the third was dreck and the fourth was absolutely laughable. I think I've noticed the decline now, and will avoid this like the plague.

They're gooseberry fool.....well, maybe not the first. The second OK, third was dire, haven't seen the fourth one and will be avoiding this one.

The original is brilliant.

But the series kept went down and down after that.

But I kept watching. I do hope this is the final installment but I sincerly doubt it as horror series always came back... :fp:

It's such an average series and every year it just gets worse.

I think so long as they keep making a good profit they'll keeping making the films.

There's a reason they don't hire slasher-friendly actors like Jessica Alba - the don't pay big star salaries so they can recoup their investment every time.

Rumour is that every character has ever appeared in a Saw movie will be making an appearance in Saw V.

And for those hoping this is the last, Saw VI is due the same time next year/year after.

Nevertheless I'll be seeing it. Saw, er, IV last year, best part was the end with the ice blocks.

Saw - Jigsaw makes traps that kill people.
Saw 2 - Jigsaw and Amanda make traps that kill people.
Saw 3 - Jigsaw and Amanda make traps that kill people but they themselves both die at the end.
Saw 4 - Happens at the same time as Saw 3. People die in traps.

This. I watched the first one earlier on tonight when it was shown, scared the hell out of me. Though I have to admit I thought it was quite a well told story and the end was very surprising, to me at least. I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to watch the others though.

They're not that bad. II is decent enough (Xavier is bad ass) though not as good as I, and III/IV don't really help each other by running concurrent stories which aren't properly tied up until the start of the fifth film. Overall they're not brilliant but still perfectly viewable.
