They won't try and get the funds so you should contact them and inform them of the mistake they've made, and then they'll take the money from you.

Think I remember this happening once. Personally I wouldn't worry about it too much.

...wait, if you're saying GAME sent you out that GoW Ultimate Edition for free then I'm grassing you up.

Always happens with Game, it takes a few days for it too appear on your statement but will be dated the day it was dispatched.

I don't think you understand, no money at all has gone. My balance and credit I can take is the same.

Yep thats what always what happens when I use em. I've also had it where the moneys come out on bout the balance and credit, but the next days its gone and the balance and credit have returned to the original value only for it to disappear a few days later again. I've gone though your exact thought process before and hoped they've forgotten to take it, but they never do.

EDIT: In fact my bank isn't showing my GOW3 order but i'm holding it in my hands.

As someone who works or worked in a bank you should know about the money being 'grabbed' from your direct debit account before its actually gone out to secure that payment. Well it was getting 'grabbed' the other day. Now the full amount is there for me to withdraw. And withdraw I have done ;)

And as someone who says its happened to them before on numerous occasions with this same retailer you should understand the ending has always been the same for me - the money gets taken from the account in the end ;)

Ah well, I took the money out this afternoon to put aside for holiday spends :shifty: I don't have an overdraft or anything like that on my account. So if they try and debit my account theres strawberry float all there

Even if you don't have an overdraft it'll go out and be classed as an unautherised overdraft.

Maybe you got lucky and it slipped their system, but some transactions take days to clear into an account, many online places do this as an example,

I'm fairly sure you are allowed to keep it and they can't do anything about it as the mistake was made by them and you are under no pressure to correct it. I'm sure the same rule applies if they send you something of much greater value than your order by mistake that you are not obliged to send anything back and they can't bill you for the higher cost of the item but I'd like confirmation from some of the legal eagles here on that though.
