Who else is up to the job?
Mr Elon (Hyperloop isn't a pile of gooseberry fool that'll never work) Musk?
I think not!

Durham County Council should be able to do it. I've paid those strawberry floaters enough.

I found this an interesting watch, concerning climate change and a possible emergency response to it, and the risks it carries.

Given the reactionary approach we continue to take I think geoengineering is unfortunately inevitable, and it's also very likely there will be unforseen consequences. Optimistic of the video to assume the world government's will come together to try it rather than a superpower just going for it though.

If the UN or an equivalent body exists at that time, it'll probably be an effort that that organization gets going. Spreading the burden of cost across the UN of that time would make the whole venture that much more sellable to the electorates of its member states.

I first learnt of the AI tech Deepmind from the documentary AlphaGo. The premise is creating an AI programme that can defeat the world's greatest Go players (beating Chess Grandmasters has been possible for decades although their Chess AI destroys the previous best Chess AI).

They also have had it learn Starcraft.

The documentary is fascinating and well worth watching.

They've now used the tech to help with protein folding.

With the state of the world lately, Skynet sounds a good way out.

Anyone see the halo around the moon last night? I've not seen one before, it was darker within the halo (like how the sky is brighter under a rainbow), it almost looked like a giant planet in orbit.

I know a thing or two about bots. Why don't you give me the security login, and I'll see what I can do.

I wonder if this DeepMind AI can be put to use decoding the as-yet-indecipherable Harappan (Indus Valley) texts, or the Voynich Manuscript?
