strawberry floating incredible to see a line of satellites track across the sky in tight formation - had to google it to see what it was as the wife was convinced the aliens had arrived

Science :datass:

Missed it. I heard you can see them again tomorrow is that right?

Apparently they'll pass over again (not sure if it's the same satellites or another set?) 90 minutes after the first train, so might stay up to see that.

Its such an impressive spectacle, like something out of a sci-fi film.

I've still not managed to catch the starlink. Every time it's supposed to be here it's overcast. Tonight I was out looking for meteors but didn't see anything, so I got the telescope out and looked at a few stars.

Same. Has anyone got a reliable site for tracking this? The ISS ones are bang on, but with this there appears to be a lot of conflicting information.

That's it, I give up .

Venus is so bright at the moment, though. At least I got a good look at that.

I was talking about the Starlink satellite train, not the meteor shower. Also I live on the Moon.

Rumours of evidence of life on Venus apparently.

This is very cool. It'll take a bit of time to confirm, but there are already planned Venus atmosphere probes - we could confirm the presence of microbes there within the next decade or two if appropriate space missions can be funded.

It's worth waiting a bit before getting too excited, in case there's an explanation that's been overlooked, but it's looking promising.
