Scotty is one of the handful of online folk I'd had the pleasure of meeting IRL. He was a genuine chap.

It'd be disingenuous to say that we always got on online, because we really got off on the wrong foot back in the PG/MSN days, but we were awkward teens, yet to mature. As the years burned on, though, fences were mended, and common interests shared (such as our intense love for County Donegal). Like most of the PG crew, I haven't kept in touch half as much as I wish, but I've always thought that in another life, we'd have been good friends.

Farewell, Scotty. May the Archbishop of Canterbury forever be tasty, satisfying and cheap.

For anyone who met Scott and would like to attend his funeral it'll be held on Tuessay afternoon in Glasgow. Message me if you want more details. I'm sure he'd welcome any of his forum friends just the same as he intruded his way into part of your lives.

Jeez feels a bit more real talking about funerals. I hope you give him a hell of a send off. :-(

Bit of a late response but I just want to echo how awful this is, especially for someone so young. And like many others, it's made me reflect on how much of my life has actually been spent on GRcade. I never was a part of Poopgang and I was only really close with Raze, The Alchemist Penguin, Aaronayl and LewisD (until I was an ungrateful strawberry floating banana split at Christmas) outside of the forum but it really makes me think about things, you know.

Never posted much on PoopGang, but remember seeing his name on GamesRadar and on there. RIP.

I joined GamesRadar in January 2004, so would have been 13 at the time and now I'm not far from being 28. Significant chunk of my life on here and also Random Fury especially back in 2004-2008.

Burnout 3 and Halo 2 with GR/RF are some of my very favourite, if not absolute favourite gaming memories. Online gaming was still in console infancy back then and it had me absolutely hooked. It even resulted in 15/16 year old me and a bunch of Random Fury guys meeting up in London. I remember being a bit nervous about meeting strangers from the Internet but now I do it all the time with Uber and Tinder. :slol:

gooseberry fool, well, not shown my face around here for years. Some of you old GR/PG/Snipermonkey/Gamufi folk may remember me as Schaz. It's a sad occasion for which I have finally crawled out of the woodwork.

It makes me so happy to see so many remember Scotty.

Going through pictures took me through several drunken exploits with forumites past and present. Many good times were had, and I am glad to have met so many lovely people. I'm sure Scott would have felt the same.
