So the Union endures. And that's that. Done and dusted for another century or two, at least.

Happy at the result and I think it is the right one. As long as the devolution if power is now done in a reasonable fashion.

The amount of people on my feed posting a YouTube video now claiming the result was a fix. :fp:

So stupid.

Ah yes, that's the image which was already explained as having being taken before any votes were counted, right?

You should have seen the result before I tripped the fire alarm and dropped a bundle of extra no's in there, man.

Moving on from Staydeads attempts to reclaim Ireland I do feel bad for those that voted Yes yesterday. The dream of independence must be a hell of a thing to get so close to and then see slip away. Waking up this morning and seeing the likes of Farage and UKIP turning on Scotland as soon as the result was announced would just confirm your fears.

Scottish MPs to be barred from voting on English laws. If English MPs can be barred from voting on Scottish laws, this might just possibly be okay...

Hah, no.

Second referendum before 2025.

Seeing Farage and co on TV has made me wonder why so many anti-EU people are so pro-British union? Why should we be ruled by a British superstate? England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland should be able to control their own borders, after all we allow 5 million Scottish people to just walk into England and claim our benefits!

You could claim to be, if you wanted. But I don't think anyone living in Great Britain would dare to be the one who put you in that box incase you go and blow up a car or something.

Is it really that hard to believe some people are anti-british/feel strongly about not being recognised as a 'brit'? I don't think it is.

:(

I'm not going to turn against any no voters.

I am however going to turn on the non voters. Turnout was poorer than I'd hope for in certain areas.

That doesn't mean it shouldn't be challenged though. 'Anti-Britishness' (read: anti-English) can often thinly disguise misguided racism.

Don't really see the major issue myself, seems fairer.

strawberry float me if Farage isn't a smug banana split though. Would be happy never to see the prick on my screen again.

This will be no consolation to the Yes voters, but the 'no' victory has helped quell an almost certain UKIP rise in England. Farage was poised to (attempt to) capitalise, apparently.

Thank strawberry float for that.

900 years you ordered us around, killed millions of us and sent us to the Barbados as slaves for some kings you hung around with. People fought and died to reclaim most of Ireland back from the British so its not racism that makes me not want to be considered British. My country isnt 100years old yet so don't call it racism. It's you who are misguided.

His post is a few pages back, it's really not that bad. Zellery was pretending it was Luke that was burning the butchers apron, hence the joke.

I agree it shouldn't be sneered at but I do think English folk in here don't fully understand the feeling of anti-britishness among some Scots.
