Was meant to be funny as they don't seem to realise they don't have a vote.

I've just got a chip on my shoulder right now thanks to a few beer swilling banana splits on the tram a few days ago before the England match.

Wouldn't that mean the tory is statistically over-represented for Scotland?

"He didn't give me the answer I was looking for."

Utterly shameful stuff from Nick Robinson and the BBC.

Two things, firstly he says the briefing by a minister to a journalist is illegal despite already mentioning the news itself wasn't new.

Secondly regarding the moving of a companies hq down south. The English company I work for and the US company that is in the process of completing a full takeover were considering (before a public backlash) moving the their profits offshore to avoid tax. I'm no expert, I have no idea how it works but surely the Scottish banks are only moving there HQ to London to take advantage of the tax laws and potential bank of England bailouts?

Salmond is as much of populist bullshit banana split merchant as the rest of the party leaders in Westminster. Scotland either way will be just as gooseberry fool in 5/10 years (as will rUK) as it is today whether it is ruled by Edinburgh or London. Political power and money makes banana splits of most people.

I don't understand Salmonds point at all. Information was going to released in the morning, it came out the night before. What difference does it make? It was going to hurt the yes campaign anyway.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.

Releasing that information early causes early damage to those companies, and the economy based upon them. Also, the treasury are not allowed to reveal that information.

But how does the early release hurt the yes campaign?

I understand why the information is damaging I just don't see why the timing is damaging. If it came out in the morning or the night before what difference is that going to make, it's still going to be damaging to the yes campaign?

It's market-sensitive information and any big blip in the markets (much more likely when a select group of people is tipped off before a formal market announcement) is very easy to spin as an anti-independence thing.
